Good for you Guiliani! All endorsements help. I hope her political career is over. She is indeed a crybaby!

Hoffman could end up winning due to the amount of moderates hes able to peel away from scozzafava. I sure hope so, especially now that she's endorsed the Dem.
Truthguy pointed out that Giuliani could make a good governor (I think he would be). What are the possibilities of that?

True, but better 60% right than 4% right, and some NY GOP folks have a tendency to get better with age; McHugh and King come to mind.

This is a MAJOR endorsement, and perfect timing. Rudy is highly respected by Republicans and Dems in NYState. I now have a strong sense that Hoffman will be the winner on Tuesday.Indeed. I read last week that this would happen and was likely part of a two-fer with Pataki coming first and then on Sunday Rudy. It was planned to be a final nail in her coffin, assuming she was still in the race. It's still needed, of course, but it shouldn't be a big surprise.

FWIW, Owens has only 61 Facebook fans.He doesn't need Facebook fans; he needs ACORN fraud. But as someone pointed out in another thread, this district is not full of braindead voters (or those just plain dead that are on the voting roles).
On another point that worries me. It has been reported that Hoffman doesn't live in the 23rd district. Can his election be challenged on that point?

AIUI, a candidate must be a resident of the given state.
Think Hillary! and RFK.

“Giuliani is far from conservative, but as endorsements go his could be even better than a conservatives.”
I agree. This could potentially negate the ‘centrist’ message that Scozzafava says is the reason she is backing the democrat.

In NY Rudy is anything but late. The guy did in NYC what NO body could do. I listened to Him speak at a motivational seminar a couple of months ago. He alone brought the place to their feet clapping and cheering. (about 40K) All for America, All for Conservatives, You got Him wrong

Are you interested in having Hoffman win? Just curious. Because if you ARE interested in having the conservative win, then Rudy's endorsement in the state of NY is a good thing. Agree w/you. Regardless of what anyone here thinks of him, Rudy is still a hero to a lot of people in New York.

There is a lot of misunderstanding on this Republican vs Conservative thing. There certainly is. It's OK when RINOs support conservatives. That's the real meaning of the Big Tent.
More people identify themselves as "conservative" than any other political position. We must take advantage of that. We certainly must not exclude others who are supporting us. Rudy G. works as a follower.

The Constitution lays down the requirements for serving in the House of Representatives, and it only requires that the candidate be a resident of the state.

Rudy has some conservative credentials and loyal, unlike Dede whos basically a Democrat who just betrayed the party by endoring the democrat after the party helped her with hundred of thousands of dollars. Reminds me of Arlen Specter

Giuliani is a hardcore Leftist, just like Scozzafava. Who do you think you’re kidding?
To: 4rcane
I have no problem with Rudy G. as an ally. I have a problem with him as a national leader, but that's a different issue.
Reminds me of Arlen Specter
Specter types I have a big issue with, but he made his bed with Harry Reid, he can sleep in it, preferably outside the senate when he loses reelection. Maybe he can play golf every day with Jim Jeffords.

Giuliani is a hardcore LeftistSee my other posts in this thread. Rudy G. is OK as an ally and he's proved more loyal than a Jeffords/Spector/DeDe. Just so long as he does not try to assume a national leadership role ...
He's the kind of person we want to attract to the Big Tent, not vote for. His endorsement is most welcome.
