"Today, I again seek to act for the good of our community,"
"It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my party will emerge stronger and our district and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations."

Ok, this is good but Hoffman’s supporters should not let their guard down yet. The democrats might steal the race. This area is very corrupt.

Ok, ScuzzyFavor is out.
So now you get to favor one candidate -- the liberal democrat -- or the other, a conservative republican.
Choose.

One RINO down-—who goes next? Ridding ourselves of all of them can be this easy.
Let’s rout the power-mad pukeneos-—they ruined the party, lost numerous elections and handed power to the Dims (course, this was part of their plan-—in collusion with Rahm).
More egregiously, the pukes kicked conservatives to the curb and religiously cleansed the party for their own nefarious purposes.

Well folks, the Republican leadership may have found a way to defeat the impact of a direct RINO loss to a recognized Conservative. Why we didnt even have a person trying to win... You're giving them way too much credit.
They are profesional politicans. They lost.
Most of them don't care about RINOism. Most of them care about perserving their sorry political careers. If the power base is conservative, they will move conservative. To think that most are still deeply hunkered down trying to figure out how they can preserve RINOism, I don't think is reality.
I think that is your fear.
Regards.

Sarah Palin should receive a huge amount of the credit too. Its her endorsement that was really the turning point in this wouldn’t you agree!

Absolutely! I am so encouraged today & we need to never forget that point. Sometimes I get unduly downhearted thinking of the big money going to liberals (whether R or C by the likes of unions, corporations, Soros types).
We need be confident and start picking RINOS one by one as we are able in any other off season elections, and be organized and ready for 2010!

This is only a single but important hurdle that was overcome.
Conservatives must learn to watch out for each other because of the many ways the establishment (which represents the conservativism of the status quo and prnicipals rather than the conservatism of principles) delivers shivs from behind.
Fair Warning to NY23 , published Tuesday, applies now more than ever:
Expect widespread voter fraud in favor of the Democratic candidate for Congress, and expect the GOP to not only look the other way, but to obstruct any oversight, whether it be by Conservative Party leaders who have a candidate in this race (Doug Hoffman) or independents who wish to see some breaks in the lock the Democratic/Republican Parties have on everything from the electoral process to governing itself, or even lay Republicans dissatisfied with all leadership in DC.

I hope New Yorkers will be happy with the outcome now, however they achieved it.

Actually since Steele was head of the party & DD was the candidate of the party, he couldn't come out against her as long as she was a candidate. He could and probably did put pressure on her to step aside. That being accomplished, he was free to endorse Hoffman.
The same cannot be said for Newt. He has no office in the party that I'm aware of.

Yep. See 231. LOL.
I hope many independents in NY-23 are as aware as us and will actively video track those going into polling places so to protect the integrity of their votes.

She didnt say that. She said her supporters are free to vote as they see fit to do so, in other words not to vote at all or vote for Owens, and she didnt have time to address all the things that were said about her, and her name is still on the ballot. What a self-serving statement, but what did we expect? Yes...very much a Pro-Owens move.
It remains to be seen whether she will be pressured into changing "as they see fit to do so" into "vote for Doug Hoffman"...

The GOP leadership thinks theyll take over power with them as their core. I guess they think theres a larger body of RINOs in this nation than there are Conservatives. The swing voters went for Obama in 2008. Now after a year of discontent, the swing voters are moving right (in large numbers).
I believe that most of the GOP leadership like most politicians will go in the direction that produces a majority that perpetuates their political careers.
Any true middle-of-the-road types will get swept out. I don't believe there is an immovable RINO-behind-the-curtain force in leadership that is willing to fight on and trick us all.
JMO.
