Tanker explodes on I-465 ramp
Indianapolis - A semi tanker has exploded on the southbound ramp from I-69 to I-465.
The fire from the vehicle is creating dark plumes of black smoke which can be seen for miles. A second alarm has been requested to the scene. Views from a tower cam show that the billboards are also on fire.
The accident is causing large back-ups on I-465. The crash is before the Allisonville Road exit.
Injuries are being reported. Witnesses reported hearing loud noises.
Witness Danielle Smith was on 465 headed to Keystone at the Crossing. In her rear-view mirror, she saw a wall of flames.
"I didn't know if it was a truck or a building or anything like that. All the traffic started slowing down," she said.
After the flames, Smith said she saw a lot of smoke. She wasn't sure what type of vehicle was involved.
SkyTrak Weather meteorologist Chuck Lofton says the small fires that broke out along the interstate were aided by the wind, which has picked up to 20 mph.
Oh, and I forgot a secondary benefit; fewer whiny liberals to deal with, as they wouldn't be caught dead dealing with a FOX NEWS advertiser!
I guess some folks think it’s just one big race track, huh?

In spite of Obama's attempts to marginalize them. I wonder if he has staff looking at Fox and taking note of sponsors and then sending notes to them, especially those bailed out with federal money, suggesting they take their sponsorship elsewhere. Wouldn't put it past this crew to pull something like that. And if it happens, I would hope a whistleblower would come forth to reveal the Marxist's dirty tricks.
hiccup
The odds are it was an accident. But no question that the Muslims have an eye on these tankers as possible weapons.
But it seems to me that there wouldn’t be enough bang for the buck unless they stole one and exploded it in a crowded place or a building. Taking out an overpass causes a lot of trouble—the one I knew about in Yonkers took out an overpass on the Major Deegan into the city, and it took several years to replace. But that’s just an incredible nuisance, not a spectacular mass killing of the sort they like.
You can get an idea of the audience by looking at the advertisers.
MSM newscasts, I understand, are sponsored by AARP, Wilfred Brimley’s diabetes company, “The Scooter Store” and Depends Undergarments.
Well, it is near the Brickyard, LOL. I guess they all want to qualify for next year :)
This is the busiest interchange in the city, and the only way north around it is Allisonville Road.
This is going to be a nightmare...
I hate you.

“A worker at Washington Dulles International Airport has been arrested after running away from a security official who questioned the man about not wearing his security badge.”
MORON....
Badge challenges are part of working in an airport. If he’d just looked down and said. “OH CRAP!”, he’d have gotten written up and a small fine. Running was STUPID>
“I guess some folks think its just one big race track, huh?”
They don’t call it the 465 Motor Speedway for nothing...
They could set a bunch of them all over the country and have them all go off about the same time. That would cause a panic and make people nervous about driving around tankers.
Radio and television are not in the News and Entertainment business.
They are in the Advertising business. That is what pays the bills.
I assume you are local. My son is there, it’s national FFA convention week. They were traveling today to an Elk farm. Please ping me if you hear anything pertaining to the FFA kids....worried mom.
Yeah, what’s up with that, saying “the” in front of a highway or interstate numbers? Reporters trying to get noticed by the LA market or something?
Lemme guess - you spent a lot of time in CA somewhere along the way? Your adhoc title (not the same as the link) using the term “the I-465” rather than “I-465” gives you away. I’m not aware of anyone on the east coast who puts a “the” in front of Interstate numbers like Californians do. The Indiana news station certainly didn’t.
