With many eyes trained on candidate recruitment efforts against Rep. Alan Grayson (D) in Floridas 8th district, it appears that speculation about who might be the GOPs standard-bearer is focused squarely on one high-profile potential challenger former state Sen. Dan Webster.

Grayson has tons of personal money but his district is not a Dem stronghold. Grayson the carpet bagger from the Bronx has to go.

Given Alan Grayson’s radicalism and loathsome demagoguery, could we call this race “The Devil and Daniel Webster”?

Add to it the Town Hall chicanery with the unions in his district so Grayson’s a one hit wonder.

Grayson: the guy who called Republicans sponsors of death?
Grayson: the guy who is the hero of Daily Kos?
I think he’s going to be HARD to beat. He’s getting all kinds of money from outside his district....

He won a fluke upset in a historically GOP district.

There were some funding scandals in the GOP offices in that part of the state. I hope this Dan Webster wasn’t near any of that. When I looked at
the map of Grayson’s district, shown on his web site back when he made his rant about "die quickly," I was shocked that he was representing that area. That isn’t a strongly Democrat district. It looks more Republican by the map, though there are some urban parts of Orlando within his district. He should be toast, though, after his rant. The Rubio coat tails are going to help any conservative Republican in the state in 2010, if Rubio gets the Senate seat nomination. If Crist is the Senate candidate, I think that hurts Republicans, especially the more conservative ones, statewide.

Yes! Daniel Webster is a very strong conservative. Homeschoolers in the area get ready. He is one of us. I hope he runs. It would be fantastic news.

Alan Grayson is one of the most loathsome individuals in congress. It’s unbelievable that he got elected in a conservative leaning district in Orlando - Grayson is certifiably batsh!t left-wing crazy....definitely part of the Pelosi wing.

Webster sponsored legislation to protect the rights of homeschooling parents. Pass the word.

Not only did he sponsor legislation to protect homeschooling rights, he was a homeschooler. His family homeschooled. I don’t know if they are still doing it, but they did homeschool for some time.
