FYI, it all comes down to the Czech president. If ratified, the EU will have a parliament, president, court, military, central bank, and currency.

If it walks like a country and talks like a country...it sounds as if Great Britain, France, Ireland, Germany, and Italy...all once great empires of their own, will come to an end.

I’m sure that Europe will benefit in the beginning, particularly economically but if it isn’t based on a Republican form of government, it is doomed to fail.

So! The leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom will be like governors of states.

Ireland will soon regret this move. Europeans have always prided themselves on their unique national identities.

Over time, this will prove to be a bad thing for Europe.

It is unlikely that President Klaus and the brave senators will be able to stick it out until the summer 2010 when UK will have general elections. The chairman of the Conservatives has promised a referendum in Britain if the treaty has not been ratified before. Everyone counts on a massive majority rejecting the treaty in Britain if only the voters get the chance to be heard.

If President Klaus somehow manages to hold out in time for a decision in Britain he is on par with Joseph Sobieski, Karl Martel, Winston Churchill and other defenders of freedom in Europe.

Just wait to the first civil war breaks out in the future and we’ll see how long it lasts.

Time to change the song

A province once again,
A province once again,
And Ireland, long a Nation, be
A province once again!

Irish were forced to go for the treaty, now.

Klaus sent his prime minister Jan Fischer to Brussels (9/17) to explain that "a constitutional challenge" (launched by Klaus) had to be resolved before final ratification - which could take up to six months. The Eurocrats were so purpled with rage they almost physically assaulted Fischer.

Klaus' strategy is to delay signing (the courts will likely compel him to sign in the end) until the British elections next spring. Gordon Brown's Labor Government forced through British ratification last year. But the Brits viscerally despise the Brown regime, which is going to be electorally destroyed.

David Cameron's Conservative Party will be swept into power, and he has made a public referendum on the Lisbon Treaty a central plank in his election campaign. The Brits never had a chance to vote on Lisbon; Labor in Parliament forced it against their wishes. Per Jack Wheeler

Which is most likely to occur first, if the European Union becomes a country:

(1) It implodes and breaks apart.

(2) Secession, by peaceful means.

(3) Secession, by civil war/revolution.

(4) The EU becomes authoritarian.

(5) The EU becomes the European Empire.

I dont get it.

Ireland fought for centuries to regain their independence. Countless people have been lost either through war, famine, and diaspora.

And this is what its come to.

“May the curse of Cromwell on you!”, So shout their ancestors.

What magic did this that so many wars of the past couldn't do?
