Tom is very very concerned. And he's going to let you know he's very concerned. Because he's sensitive and concerned.

He was less concerned when the left boasted of their desire to assassinate Bush. In fact, he wasn't concerned at all then.

a mood in which extreme right-wing settlers and politicians were doing all they could to delegitimize Rabin, who was committed to trading land for peace as part of the Oslo accords.

Gee, people fight for their lands, families, and future are extreme right wing. Who knew. Does that mean American Indians are Republicans? Ditto - everyone else in the world. The absence of intellect required to read such trash boggles the mind. By all means lets assume those who don’t agree with us are disposable. Believe there are a few historical figures that fit that description. Can you guess who they might be? Yes we can!!!

Better than anyone else I know, Thomas Friedman can start with a simple, obvious, one-sentence concept and “condense” it into forty-one pages of self-important bullhockey. And yet manage to get it so very wrong.

Actually, some of the real wacko “threats” I’ve seen against Obama have come from left-wing loons, not right.

What a sleezy puke - where was this man’s “concern” over the last 8 years with all the vitriolic anti-Bush rhetoric including the comments about killing Bush (not to mention that movie about his assassination)????? Tempest in a teapot is all his blathering is.

I don’t like what obama is doing to this country but I’d jump in front of a bullet to protect him just like most Americans would. He is our president. Like his politics or not.

I told a friend of mine that Obama gets many death threats every day. Debbie said that is nothing new, she used to volunteer to open White House mail, when they were literally swamped with it, during Bush 2 presidency. She said he got just as many threats and mean emails as Obama gets now. She said it is the same old same old, nothing new. She said they had three form letters to send back. One was thank you for your comments, when they were positive comments. One was Sorry I disagree with you, when the sender sent negative comments. But when the letter or email was threatening to the president, those letters all had to be checked out by SS, FBI, etc. Obama is just the golden boy of the left, and they are sensitive to death threats to him. They don’t care if Republicans get threats.

After seeing what was done in the name of JFK, and what the Left tried to do with the deaths of Wellstone and Edward “Teddy the Swimmer” Kennedy, the last thing we want is for someone to kill Obama. Conservatives would do everything short of taking a bullet to prevent it.

Besides, in case the moron hadn't noticed, most assassins are left wingers. And they don't warn their victims with death threats.

My granddaddy said, ‘Don’t spit in the well, you may have to drink the water.’

Funny, that they think this rhetoric is extreme now that they are in charge.

The only violence “vast right-wing conspiracy” rhetoric will instigate will be what it instigated last time the left harped on that theme. Remember the destruction of the Branch Davidian’s Mt. Carmel home and the deaths of several dozen people? A direct result of Clinton administration fears of right-wing “gun nuts.” The rigidity and arrogance of this administration may give us a squeal to Gen. Weaselly Clark's great victory on the plains of Texas.

The Rabin assasination was inexcusible, but how did that land for peace deal work out? When you support policies that threaten the very existance of the country, it pizzed people off. Extreme policies tend to produce extreme opposition. However, elections mean things, and as long as elected officials follow constitutional law, there is no excuse for violence.
