If it is that critical to isolate the child, they should have been admitted. Chances are, they were communicable before they were diagnosed. The medical community used to be able to rely on people to be smart enough to isolate someone that was contagious. Now, thanks to our “wonderful” school system, parents are likely to take the kid to the mall or send them to school so they don’t have to worry about having them around the house. Good people get caught up in the lowered expectations.
Sadly, this same lack of reasonableness on the part of some is going to open the door for more and more (wrong) intervention.
