BIG CREEK, Ky. (AP) - A part-time census worker found hanging in a rural Kentucky cemetery was naked, gagged and had his hands and feet bound with duct tape, said an Ohio man who discovered the body two weeks ago.
Jerry Weaver of Fairfield, Ohio, told The Associated Press on Friday that he was among a group of relatives who discovered the body of 51-year-old Bill Sparkman on Sept. 12.
"The only thing he had on was a pair of socks," Weaver said. "And they had duct-taped his hands, his wrists. He had duct tape over his eyes, and they gagged him with a red rag or something.

If this account is accurate it certainly rules out suicide as some had speculated.

The Census doesn’t start till 2010.
Since the victim was acting in his official capacity as a federal employee, I doubt Kentucky state law will be relevant.
It will be really bad if it turns out he was queer..... or other than white....

There’s a lot of preliminary census work done before the actual, office Census starts.
This may go against the concensus (pun intended), but my gut says it is what it appears to be. A census taker got too inquizative with his questions and some KY hill william took offense. They have been known to do that. “you’ll never get out of Harlen alive”

You know, Morgana, some people just don’t understand KY and WV culture, do they? ....as in, don’t meddle in what ain’t yore business.
It was likely done by a cruder version of McVeigh. People like that are out there, they exist. And like all traitors bent on overthrowing the government, from whatever quarter of the political spectrum, if found and proven guilty, they should themselves hang by the neck until dead.
Then they will return to take the actual census in 2010.The census administration is now within the White House. At the very least there will be some redistricting for the 2012 elections, to favor the incumbent.
And some of us will be under satellite surveillance at the hands of Homeland Security, especially if some are out spoken and organize conservative assemblies. So far I have avoided them. They already took my home's GPS data without my permission.

Maybe Mr. Census guy came across a resident getting too friendly with his family or the farm animals.
