Mark Levin expressed his disgust with Glenn Beck's fascination with Ron Paul and comments about McCain on with Katie Couric (audio at the jump).

Here’s a question: What makes Beck libertarian?
I’ve listened to his radio show and watched his program and he has shown no support for standard libertarian themes that differentiates him from conservativism that I’m aware of:
Legalization of drugs
Legalization of prostitution
I do not believe he’s pro-choice or pro-gay-marriage
He wasn’t vehemently opposed to actions in Iraq or Afghanistan.
On top of that, he’s openly religious and most libertarians I know tend to eschew religion in public discourse.
On economic issues, I don’t understand that there is any distinction between conservatives and libertarians.
What makes him libertarian and not conservative?
I agree it is pathetic. Why is it when a conservative is confronted with a liberal questioner they have to overly try to prove they are not as “evil” or conservative as the liberal is predisposed to think. While I think John McCain is a pain in the ass. I do not think he would have been a worse President than Obama.
I do believe he would’ve been a very frustrating President but let us remember Sarah Palin would be at his side. However I do not believe he would be making the naive mistakes that Obama is on foreign policy. We would not have to worry about getting a big liberal “public option”. John McCain is a lot of things and he like many in the GOP tend to rush to apologize too much for the wrong things and seek common ground when he should be fighting on the field of political battle for what he claims to believe. I’m sure we would have had to stop President McCain but then again had we elected him I think he would’ve been a very grateful man. John McCain if we haven’t noticed has changed. He found out the worth of his fake liberal friends in the media and among the Republican Rhino class.
I think the election of Obama has been a wake up call but I will never say it has been a good thing but sometimes it takes such a thing for people to wake up. Human beings have this habit of being disengaged until they do something really stupid and then bare the full extent of the consequences for it. That is what Obama is. He is a consequence of believing a lie. Now we have to deal with it.
Beck needs to hold to his principles and not be baited by the likes of Katie Couric. Conservatives shouldn’t have to explain why they aren’t racist or why they are cold and heartless. When we do we end up looking the part of the fool and that is what Beck did and I really like the guy and I’m in awe of what he has managed to accomplish but he screwed up on the interview.
We don’t need to beat the old war horse John McCain any longer. He’s been beat enough and he has paid dearly for his reluctance to lead and his choice of liberal friends. He at least has an excuse. Most of those in Congress do not. The only torture they have experienced is having to deal with Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid.

What now Glenn isn’t allowed to talk freely????
To All....
if you conservatives can’t clearly see what the lefties are trying to do here...divide and conquer, once again...right before an election....(remember pre-2006?)..
I don’t know what to tell ya.
Except...
WAKE THE HELL UP!

Well, sweetcheeks, he’s a Mormon for a start. And secondly he hasn’t started any fight. He made comments and Levin chose to comment on them to the MSM. He couldn’t do it on his own show. He had to take it to ‘them’? Not smart, babydoll.
When your dealing with a 10 headed beast, you need to be all over the place...
We need to quit electing Republicans like Bush, not stop electing Republicans.
I’m a Republican, but that loyalty, because the Democratic party is so bad, has allowed the Republican party to become just more of the same old fishwrap we are all voting againt. When we vote for people, like McCain, election after election doesn’t matter if Democrat or Republican they become beholden to “K” Street and we voters get screwed... A third party isn’t the choice and, unlike Beck (who I like) I cannot abide Ron Paul, but people like Mark and Hannity would do the party a favor if they went after people like Newt (when he goes squishy) or Boehner, or McConnell...
This is the problem. Infighting over the next presidential nominee and direction of the party. Already started.
I’ve been upset with the “Value Voters” picking Huckabee, myself in a flawed poll. Huckabee is not the right person to stand up to Obama. Likewise, McCain was the one who lost the last election on his own and not Sarah Palin or anybody else.
People went in the primaries for the wrong guy and can do it again. McCain, is a Liberal Republican and you see it in his Rino daughter.
Then you have Mitt Romney, who to me has tried to have it both ways. If he had been good he would have won the nomination last time.
It is going to be a pain in the butt finding the right person. Palin, if only she hadn’t been so crappy at her going away speech. The Palin that spoke at the RNC convention is the Palin I want. Not the crap with Katie Couric.
They all have black marks..Like you said.
So I can see Talk radio hosts disagreeing on direction. Sadly it causes infighting.
See post #105 to be properly schooled.
Earth to jenk....YOU’re the one that needs to understand.
We don’t give a DemocRat’s @ss what you think about Glenn Beck. You’re just here to divide and “try” to conquer...apparently.
I have been and will continue to give my money directly to Conservatives... just sent Joe Wilson another hundred bucks!I supported Fred to the maximum extent of the law... and I donated to Palin and what's his face... only because mcdumbarse chose Sarah.
LLS
I thought it was actually good for Beck to say this. It shows that he’s not “anti-Obama”, that he really is concerned about the issues and not the person. If he would have attacked Obama on this question, all we would have heard were howls from the left that Beck just doesn’t like Obama, and the issues would be buried. Once again, I think Beck is out in front of most people and we should give credit where credit is due. Focus on the issues, not the personality.
Bingo and dittos!
No honey.
It’s a title for the lame dinosaurs people like you foist upon us Americans.
its not a move...same stance as always
It’s called ego.. huge ego... he tried to stir it up between Beck and Rush last week. If Rush has a problem with Beck it is up to him, not Levin, to stir the pot... Personally, I think Levin wanted the 5 p.m. slot on Fox. Hannity helped him get his radio syndication and I suspect Hannity was working to help bring him on Fox as a compadre.. and they both resent that Beck got it and has huge ratings.
what does being a mormon have to do with it?
