You're underestimating him. He, like Zero, isn't concerned about any consequences to Israel OR to the USA. He's just one more radical/criminal, one of many, that Zero has surrounded himself with.

Israel has a right, a duty to defend itself. Iran is a genocidal realist and WILL launch nukes at Israel the moment it can.
It is obvious that the current US administration not only will not lift a finger to stop Iran - on any timetable - but actively wants Israel to die.
Therefore Israel will not, must not wait for the US. They will do what needs to be done.
Thank God Israel has allies in an attack on Iran. Saudi Arabia, driven by its own realpolitik, will help Israel on this one issue.

I don’t understand why anyone thinks Israel would fly through Iraq - Israel has, several times, demonstrated that it can fly through Syrian airspace at will. Didn’t they buzz Assad’s palace at one point? And there was, so far as I heard, no challenge to Israel’s airforce when they destroyed the Syrian nuclear facility. Besides, a nice big attack on the Bekka (sp?) valley, where we suspect Saddam’s WMD are stored, might keep the Syrians a bit pre-occupied.
Cheer up. Hell, I am even stating to believe that the election of Obama might have been better than four years of chloroformed “conservatism” under McCain.

Scowcroft it the head of the realist doctrine group by virtue of the fact that he put Desert Storm together. Bob Gates is Obama's Sec of Defense, but he really works for Scowcroft.

For the record, Israel’s current leader is assertively free market. Israel’s banking system is sounder than Europe’s or the US. Israel does not regulate salaries in its financial sector, nor is it pushing the US to do so. Israel is heading away from socialism unlike Europe and tragically the US.

The discussion was not about your being “impressed” with Israel. Where the hell did you say “screw” Europe or that Europe can’t defend themselves as you did about Israel? Where the hell did you say that the US should order Europe around like you did about Israel?
So do you advocate that we pull out of defending Europe with money and blood? How about just telling Europe that they can’t supply our enemies or have joint exercises with China?
