Mark Levin was asked in an email today by Politico.com who has more influence, Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh. Mark's answer was clear (hear the brief audio at the jump).
The only thing missing when Mark said it was this music playing in the background...

In radio you must remember numbers are not important, they are everything. They control revenue your viability, and most of all bragging rights.
...Won’t get any crap here, Limbaugh is an entertainer, not an activist. But he plays that line, “I predicted this, don’t doubt me, I’m always right.” On the edge of activism, without committing. Listened to him many moons. And yer right, he’s back to shilling for republicans again, and dismissing third parties as moderates. Far as I’m concerned he’s once again, a self serving, hypocritical, whining maggot. Levin, Boortz, and all the rest, stick to the issues. You want to turn yer show into who can piss the farthest, I got no time fer yer asses!!!
Nor is he trying to be! ; )
Considering Levin’s book just hit one million in sales, I don’t think he has much to worry about.
I'm getting there myself. He can be rather petty at times.
I used to listen to Boortz when I drove around during the day more, but he can just be too caustic and nasty at times. If I’m in the office I usually have Beck on. Especially lately since his show tends to have consequences. Ingraham has a nice little show, but it’s never inspired me to remember to turn it on.
One thing that I always keep in the back of my mind is that Rush is probably one of the truest believers of all time. Truth is with his hearing problems and as hard as he has worked all his life(and once you are worth over 100 million you obviously have other motives) he really does not have to turn the golden eib mike on ever again.
I think he does it because he cares for the country and sees where it is headed.
I agree with everything you have said. Hannity has gotten better, you would not believe what it was like when he started.
But... I will say that if I were ever in trouble, I would love to have a fiercely loyal friend like Sean. He seems a good husband and father and what he does for our military has earned him my respect and appreciation.
There are things about Hannity that annoy me, but I would definitely rather have him on my team than one of our brighter stars.
:D
Before talk radio and cable TV the conservative media was composed of a bunch of writers. There wasn’t any opportunity for them to become rich and they weren’t fighting with each other for the opportunity to be the center of attention.
What they did do is provide a nucleus for a lot of like-minded people. They helped a movement to organize, they helped conservatives to gain some influence within the GOP, and after years of fighting the GOP Establishment they managed to get Ronald Reagan nominated and then elected.
It’s not like all of these people got along with each other. There was plenty of infighting and a lot of schisms. But what we didn’t see was a lot of self-serving egotists fighting to be the center of attention. The Limbaughs, the Hannitys, the Becks and Levins are only of value when they help the rest of us. When they spend their time seeking their own fame and fortune they aren’t worth spit. Right now Beck has helped a couple of 20-somethings make a ruin of ACORN. Levin should STHU if he has nothing to contribute to that effort.
Thanks Sarge, Yeah, I heard Mark say that earlier. I was a little taken back by it. Beck has been a more effective weapon against Obama in the short term. I love Mark, but I could have done without that anti-Beck comment. Beck has always shown Rush utmost respect, as evidenced by Rush’s appearance on FOX about a week ago. The comment was disappointing & uncalled for, IMO.

:D
I like Beck, Rush, Hannity, Levin and Savage in their own way.
Let them do what they do and quit the bickering. We need to fight the extremists in control right now.
To me Beck exposes Corruption well.
Rush focuses on the left wing state control media and what the Democrats are doing daily to destroy America.
Savage was the first one out there tackling the fact the left is really communists and Marxists
Hannity was the first person exposing Reverend Wright and the extreme connections with Obama’s past and people he associated with.
And Levin is good at rallying the conservative movement and yelling down liberals.
Then you also have the two women Monica Crowley and Laura Ingraham, they do well at what they do too and on the side Dennis Miller who I only know from Fox News commentary.
My grandmother used to say- that’s why there’s chocolate and strawberry ice cream :) I still can’t handle a whole show of Beck- and sometimes I worry about his stability. There’s a lot of worship and idolizing of Beck going on- and that’s not a tendency I trust.
I like to listen to Mark, but his show is starting to turn into Weiner Nation with its attacks on a fellow conservatives. We have a common enemy.
Its really hard to sit behind a mike and do good for three hours,it takes talent, experience and knowledge of the ins and outs of radio.
