Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" as they protested the president's health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.
The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House of Representatives Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."
Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event - an ethic they believe should be applied to the government.

Today's protests imitated the original Boston Tea Party of 1773, when colonists threw three shiploads of taxed tea into Boston Harbour in protest against the British government under the slogan 'No taxation without representation'.
The group first began rising to prominence in April, when the governor of Texas threatened to secede from the union in protest against government spending. Waves of tea party protests have crossed America since.
Today's rally, the largest grouping of fiscal conservatives to march on Washington, comes on the heels of heated town halls held during the congressional August recess when some Democratic lawmakers were confronted, disrupted and shouted down by angry protestors who oppose President Obama's plan to overhaul the health care system.

Well, that depends on the paper doesn’t it? But there are more UK papers reporting fairly honestly than there is US media.
There are arguments being posted against the two million number, but it was a wonderful day in any case...and the Liar-In-Chief boogied out of town, running away from the true Americans...BTW, I enjoy your posts on the Sunday Morning Talk Show thread...I just lurk, mostly.
Great stuff Jeff, speaks for itself as great photos should.
Thanks very much!
Hopefully we bring forth some of the events of the week as well as analyze what the drivers by are up to each Sunday. If you want on the ping list we now have one, just contact Alas Babylon.
Like you I really don’t care about the number and as far as the rats trying to set yet another trap, the “Jokes” on them. Many of their ilk will be out of office next year.
And your an expert on crowds for what reason ?????????????
And the comparison between our protesters and theirs is like night and day!
We should pass this image around the web everywhere, IMHO!!
I read that on a thread earlier today....I’ll see if I can find it.
Now. We know the enemy, THE NEO-MARXIST DEMOCRAT LEFT, what is another enemy, just as deadly, just as destructive, which is an enemy from within IE...
IF WE TRUST OR ALLOW TO USURP JOHNNY COME LATELY HASBEENS AND LIMP WRISTED SELLOUTS LIKE JOHN MCJERKOFF, TRENT (IDIOT) LOTT, NUTE GINGRCH, HUCKABEE, AND OTHER LIKE PLAY ALONG TO GET ALONG NITWITS THAT DON’T UNDERSTAND THE TRUE NATURE OF THE ENEMY, WHAT HAS BEEN STARTED ***WILL***BE***DESTROYED***.
I YELL FOR A DAMN GOOD REASON.
OBAMA:
DONT TAX ME, BRO!!!
I just got back from the march. They announced that there were about 1.5 million.
Why do the Brits say 2,000,000 when our own media cowardly says 60,000.???
That’s a 30 times difference!!!!!! 3,000% !
Anyone? Anyone?
The official count was way off and it wasn’t from the Park Service it was from AP and every body just went with it. The count in this article comes from Homeland Security. 60,000 is a ridiculous figure to put out there.
She could stir up a few men to go fight!:)
I’m wondering if there have been any reports from those not allowed to the rally site and turned away?
How to distinguish Liberty from Tryanny:
Nice!
SB, my 700,000 estimate was for the entire rally/march.
People started bleeding off by 2:30-3:00 pm—any counts after 2:00 pm would be low.
1.1 million people would look like PromiseKeepers ‘97 in DC.
That is massive.
We were like 2/3rds of that.
Mrs. exit82 was saying that it was such a special day—almost like the Lord had His hand on it. Everyone was polite, respectful, kind. Veterans were being thanked for their service, people were taking pictures of each other’s signs—it was almost like the DC Chapter of Freepers when they protest—disciplined yet passionate, following the rules, cleaning up. They needed more trash barrels, but even the trash was neatly piled by the barrels.
There was a Spirit of peace on us—I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe God is being merciful to us once again, and giving us a new birth of freedom.
Don't mess with Texas.
