Who knows, maybe it’s a good thing. For they are presenting us with the opportunity to compare the truth of God’s Word to the error of man-made tradition.
Yes, it’s always best not to argue on a topic that you’ve already displayed total ignorance about.
Rote memorization of scripture is no measure of strength of faith, except, perhaps, in the microcosm. Out here, it is strong evidence (but not conclusive, mind you) of weakness of faith.
You’re stroking yourself and your own authority in a vacuum.
Sorry, about that. I sincerely meant to include your screenname in my reply. For that I apologize. As for your other comments, I see you are still refusing to answer whether or not you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, nor will you answer whether you are a Catholic. As such, it is clear you have something to hide, and you are not the so-called “Christian” or “Catholic” (depending on what mood you’re in) that you make yourself out to be. As such, buzz off imposter!
Thank you. Have a nice day.
None of your business. My religious practices have nothing to do with anything I say on this forum, and the religious tradition I come from doesn't place a value on "I'm more Christian than you are" one-upmanship. I may be required to confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, but I'm certainly not required to confess it to you.
Yet another Temple of Darwin devotee who tries to pit Catholics against Christians, but will profess neither. I think I’m starting to see a pattern.
I'm not the one who posted a list of Catholic "errors" and "sins." Your boy did a fine job of dividing Catholics from Christians all by himself.
Then on what or whose authority do you get to determine who is and who is not a Christian?
You can't rob the authority of the Bible by calling it a construct of man and then use it as authority to establish any other authority on earth.
And I'm a cultist, exactly why again? On what basis and by what, or whose, authority do you determine that I am a cultist?
Oooh, it’s chilly, I see!
Wrong. Cott Shop was responding to Buck W.’s extended multi-reply diatribe about how Catholics are the “real” Christians, whereas bible-believing creationists are supposedly “phony” (all the while refusing to profess Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, or to answer the question as to whether he is even Catholic!).
So CS doesn’t really believe the embarrassingly bigoted trash that appears on the site that he linked to?
You are the one who keeps bringing it up, Buck W. Cott Shop is not a Catholic (nor am I for that matter), he is a Bible-believing Evangelical Christian. As such, he has theological and doctrinal differences with the Catholic Church. I fail to see how you are scoring points when Bible-believing Christians honestly answer your questions on where they differ with the Catholic Church. Catholics would do the same in the reverse if you asked them...and guess what, their answer would not surprise. Protestant and Catholics have long since learned that there are deep differences between them, and yet they often put those differences aside to work together on polical and moral issues.
Meanwhile, you have still refused to answer whether you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, while at the same time refusing to say whether or not you are a Catholic, and yet you claim to be both depending on who you are trying to pit against each other on any given day.
I’m a Christian, and I don’t wear my faith out on my sleeve as you do. I tip my waitresses with money, not bible tracts as you (pl) do for the smug sense of self-satisfaction that it provides you (pl). You (pl) deny the Christianity of others who are real Christians. That makes you (pl) phony Christians.
That must be the conversation you're having in your head, because he hasn't said anything like that here. He's called certain individuals phonies, but not a whole denomination.
Spoken like a true Temple of Darwin fanatic who is trying to stir up religious animosity on behalf of his Christ-hating, evo-atheist co-religionists.
Find me a site run by Catholics that calls other Christians' teachings "sin" and "blasphemy," claims that they "provoke the Lord to anger," and illustrates their point with a cartoon of Protestant leaders palling around with Satan.
And if you can, I'll condemn it in no uncertain terms. Would that you had the moral integrity to do the same.
