Glenn Beck tops Bill O’Reilly
Charleston Daily Mail ^ | 9/8/2009 | Don Surber

Friday’s cable TV news ratings are out.

The No. 1 show was Glenn Beck — at 5 pm.

Hahahahahahahaha.

Once again, the moronic attempt to boycott a network TV show has backfired.

Big time.

Not only that but the White House operative who arranged that leaning on advertisers — Van Jones — is out of his job.

I doubt that FOX can change O’Reilly due to contract. They will have to wait until his contract expires because it may contain those time slots as part of the deal. Seeing Bill and Glenn together graphically reveals the differences in the two. Bill seems pompus and petty. Glenn is big hearted.

I’ve heard Bill talk out of both sides of his mouth but tonight was unbelievable. I thought Bill must really feel threatened by Glenn....but, rather than partner with Glenn which would do good for Bill and the country, he’s trying to diminish Glenn’s reporting. No AMERICAN should want a Communist advising the President of the U.S.!

Tonight, Bill showed me that the Bold Fresh guy is really not so tough....but he can be mean. I suspect BOR turned off a lot of people tonight. On the other hand, Glenn has shown true courage and love of our great country.

I watched O’Reilly tonight just to see Glenn and O’Reilly was trying to put him down. O’Reilly said he didn't take Jones down himself, or report on it because Jones was too small of a deal and..... he kept putting Glenn on the spot for it. Glenn said during his show today that O’Reilly just called and had some things they needed to discuss tonight.

What a jealous basta#d. Now I remember why I stopped watching that idiot POS a long time ago.

Wasn’t Glen Beck on MSNBC at one time? And David Shuster was on Fox at one time? Does anybody remember what Beck was like on MSNBC? Did he fit the liberal mold or was he like what he is now? I notice a lot of them jump around but it seems most come to Fox. Maybe the “get Beck” mentality at MSNBC has something to do with the fact that he left them for Fox or maybe he was run out of there. At one time MSNBC was acting kind of conservative trying to compete for Fox viewers but that was a short-lived experiemnt. I think these guys are kind of like actors and could be whatever they need to be in order to make a living and whoever is the highest bidder (in other words Beck could go to CNN and become a liberal, Wolf Blitzer could go to Fox and become a conservative). Kind of like professional wrestling where one year Hulk Hogan is a bad guy and the next year he is a good guy.

I don't think so.

Beck was on CNN. He said recently on O’Reilly and in a nice way that he really was not happy at CNN. He said Fox let’s him pretty much do whatever he wants. He said people at CNN would come up to him and said they did not like him.

I think some may be actors but Glenn has kids so I doubt he is a lib. He also attacked Islamo-Facism and has had death threats.

Beck is now killing CNN and MSNCB ratings. Their ratings sucked and now they are even worse.

WHAT!?

You mean that arrogant, narcissistic, bloviating jerks no longer command the number 1 spot?!

What are those New Yorkers going to watch now?

Those rating figures are for Friday, Sept 4. O’Reilly was on vacation.

Also, whenever Beck appears on O’Reilly, Bill plays the devils advocate a lot. I don't think there is any animosity between the two. From the ratings, both O’Reilly and Beck do their jobs well. Well enough to trounce CNN and msnbc night after night, month after month and year after year.

It was HLN, a part of CNN and Beck was pretty much like he is now. But only taking on broader issues like Islam and illegal aliens.
Once he got to Fox he’s let his freak flag fly (and I mean that in a good way!)

Great for Glen but I’m cheering them both on - we need every dog in this fight!!! Don’t let the other side do the divide and conquer routine.

I agree with your overall point that they do play that game but.....I would be interested to see what your response would be to tonight's show. The poking at Beck seemed much more nasty and serious.

Tonight's Factor prompted the response I posted.

Did BOF seem a bit cranky tonight? Yeah. Probably he'd rather still be on vacation.
