Glenn Beck with David Horowitz on Obama's Communist Czars, Part 1Glenn Beck with David Horowitz on Obama's Communist Czars Part 2
Sadly, I think this is not accurate.
Rush Limbaugh “This is not left versus right. This is statism and totalitarianism versus freedom!”
I think there is a certain segment of America, mostly those who are used to welfare and food stamps, who are looking for free stuff. I don’t think we can win them over.
In a sense, most Americans have been sucked into this mentality with Medicare.
But I believe that the middle class, for the most part, just wants to feel good about themselves and their country. That’s why the guilt trip from the Left sells so well. They all think we need to “do something” to help the poor. But the Left’s ideas are always “free stuff”.
So, if you publicize properly the good things that are happening, you can win them over. For example, it might be helpful to have some ads with small business owners and their employees talking about first hand experience with the benefits of the free market (growth, employment, a sense of fulfillment that doesn’t come from drawing welfare checks). And some words about the harm that is done by taxes on businesses and business owners. Employees saying that the business owners are NOT our enemies would go a long way to turning things around.

That might be the underlying battle among those who are politically aware, however in my experience this is not a battle engaged in by the average American who will gladly give up some of their freedom for comfort. If the economy was not in such bad shape, I don't think their would be near the opposition to Obama's Marxist policies. Much of the TEA party movement was/is against higher taxes and is generic in it's application. George Bush probably could have gotten government health care passed.
A few thousand people in scattered cities rallying, for multiple reasons, against the current administration doesn't give me a lot of confidence that there is any real movement towards freedom.
It's possible that voters will reject the Democrats in the 2010 elections, but this will be similar to the 2008 election, people will be voting for "change", not based on any deep seated philosophy but based on their own parochial interests. I think the average American is quite accepting of the chains of government, much like Europeans, as long as they have a comfortable life.
The problems with socialism in Europe is not that people reject government control but that people get upset when they do not get everything they have been promised.
The average American already pays more than 50% of their income to various government agencies. And we say we don't want socialism? That horse left the barn a long time ago.
For later.

God bless Glenn Beck for his valor and courage. Many thanks to David Horowitz for his perspective.
HOrowitz is wonderful,,best damn interview I have seen. He is so knowledgeable and smart and has lived the radical life.
This is a must view.
Wasn’t that terrific? He’s led a fascinating life and we are in his debt - he’s imparted priceless insight to anyone willing to learn about the nature and actions of the left in America.
I just reserved Native Son and Rules for Radicals at the library. They are gonna wonder whose side I am on,,,hah!
Good- keep em guessing.
I went into my local Books a Million a while back to pick up Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism and the young man at the checkout counter handled the book as though it were poison! He shook his head, tsk-tsked and generally showed his disapproval in a myriad of small ways. I smiled throughout the transaction- no doubt further infuriating him!
I've been reading Ann Coulter's Treason, and Coulter makes it clear by exposition and substantial quotation and citation, that the "politics of personal destruction" is nothing new for liberals, and it is a methodology, a practice, that they got from the Communists and which during the McCarthy era was Communist-led, as the Communists recriminated against HUAC, the prosecutors of Alger Hiss (Richard Nixon), the Hollywood anti-Communist leadership (Ronald Reagan), Joe McCarthy, and anyone else who got in their way.
What happened was that the Communists, carefully guided by Moscow, sold the liberals the idea that if the Communists were overreached by our great patriots (who include, btw, George Meany of the AFL-CIO, who drove labor-union Communists like our buddy Frank Marshall Davis, Pres. Obama's boyhood mentor, out of the union movement), then the liberal agenda of civil rights, the welfare state, cradle-to-grave socialism, etc., would be untransactable. So the liberals joined in the Communist attack and character assassination because the anti-Communists were "tools of Wall Street" who were going to do all sorts of evil if they prevailed and derailed liberalism and socialism.
The idea that liberalism = socialism, btw, isn't necessarily so, but that was part of the sell job the Reds gave the liberals of the 20's and 30's.
So the savaging the liberal MSM gave Newt after 1994, and Ronnie, and Dick Nixon, is absolutely nothing new. It's SOP, and with Sarah Palin now in their gunsights, we now have our best opportunity ever -- because of Sarah's clean living and screamingly obvious virtue which would be obvious to a blind horse (which is why the liberals reacted with horror when they first saw her -- HARD TARGET!!!) -- to show up the liberal lie machine for what it is, its practitioners for what and who they are, and disassemble those people forever.
Smash the media power! Wreck the Lie Machine! (Now I sound like an old 30's Communist myself!) Stop the smears and the lies!
And there we have it. The keys to victory. Bust up the media lie-nest, disarticulate it, and break their power over the American mind that they've enjoyed since the days of Dalton Trumbo, Walter Duranty, Lincoln Steffens, Lillian Hellman, and the other early Red mega-liars in print and film.
This is great stuff thank you
you have Issue X and the Statist solution and a free market solution.
Statist solution is always:
I will throw money at issue X in order to help those people.
A free market or free people solution is,
I will do nothing and let the free market take it's course.
I don't see how we can win this. One gives a service the other has nothing to sell.
In other words, how can you be in the market to sell nothing and expect people to buy it?
That was the light that got him realizing the evil of the radicals. Now he is a great American and is exposing the radical communists wherever they re including the college professors.
