Made in His Image: Melanin, the Sunblock That's Just Skin Deep
ICR ^ | August 2008 | Randy J. Guliuzza, P.E., M.D.

Posted on 08/30/2009 6:12:00 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

Most people north of the equator have an observable suntan by August. Ironically, a desire to be outside is often coupled with another strong desire to get out of the sun, as indicated by sales of sun umbrellas and other types of sunshades.

From a biological standpoint, energy from the sun always needs to be controlled. This means that there is complex biological machinery in place to manage sunlight in some way. The machinery itself would not exist without information in DNA prescribing its materials, manufacture, and operation. Suntans result from this special biological machinery and function like the skin's own built-in umbrella to get skin cells "out of the sun." The process is so important that...

Did Noah know this?

Did Noah know this?

I don't know if he did or not, but I once sat in class and heard a young lady ask, quite earnestly, if Joan of Arc had been married to Noahs Ark.

I must have missed the part in this article where the author presented any evidence to support his assertion.

This is a prefect example of an argument from personal incredulity.

So according to this which are more de-evolved from the “kind” of Adam and Eve, white or black people?

SHH! Don’t confuse the Cretins with logic. Or science.

......and today's false conclusion award goes to Dr. Randy J. Guliuzza.

Naturalistic evolutionists claim that because earth is "open" to energy from the sun, life could have started and increased in complexity without a Creator. This notion is scientifically incorrect. As illustrated in human skin, raw energy from the sun must be managed by preexisting complex biological systems or else it kills life.

Lots of simple Bio 101 information in there, but i was waiting for the "Thusly, God did it" moment and Dr. Dippy did not disappoint.

Albinos don’t have melanin. Acccording to the author of this author, Albinos must be instantly vaporized by the sun on birth. Obviously this argument is as specious as all the other creationist canards - melanin gives some animals a selective advantage but it’s hardly necessary for life.

What's the matter? Isn't the religious sectarian Catholic vs Christian baiting working out so well for you that you have to resort to racism baiting?

As opposed to *evolutiondidit*?

Why do you object to the concept that God did something?

...and let's not forget that this important melanin function also resulted in freckles and then in the evolution of the eyeball...actually both of them, for stereoscopic vision

According to GGG and the groupies, there was one “kind of everything , and since the fall of Adam and Eve, everything has de-evolved (there must be evolution for there to be de-evolution). So which has de-evolved? It's not a racist question. I want to know your group's views.

Gottcha - if Adam and Eve were both white, creationism is by definition racist

Its your bailiwick, live with it.

Strawman alert!!! I object to the twisting of science to a false conclusion that claims to prove that "God did it"....nothing more. I have nothing against theism or Creationism in any manner.....just don't tell me that everything ever discovered or learned about everything in the science world is proof of the Creation as some here claim. Or that everything is proof that Man walked with hundreds of species of meat eating dinosaurs.

THIS article actually had some good basic information in it.....right up until the false conclusion....probably because Brian Thomas *MS didn't write it.

You wanna talk about "God did it"....talk all you want and you won't hear a peep out of me. You wanna talk about this or that science proving that "God did it"....and I will comment until someone bans me.

“(there must be evolution for there to be de-evolution)”

Can you explain why this “must be”?
Does the Law of entropy require a progression to higher order for it to be a law?

thank you for your thougthful reply

"This is a prefect example of an argument from personal incredulity."

Please tell us how an argument from personal credulity is preferable?

"Strawman alert!!! I object to the twisting of science to a false conclusion that claims to prove that "God did it"....nothing more."

I must have missed your objections to the twisting of science to a false conclusion that claims to prove that "Nature did it". Surely you object to that fallacious assumption each time it appears in the 'scientific' literature since you are so adept at identifying 'strawmen'.

"You wanna talk about this or that science proving that "God did it"....and I will comment until someone bans me."

Please, let's talk about this or that science proving that "Nature did it".
