An advertising boycott against Fox News host Glenn Beck has succeeded in keeping most major sponsors from running commercials on his show even as the controversial commentator's viewership has grown.
Beck attracted 2.81 million viewers Monday, his third-largest audience since his show launched on Fox News in January, according to Nielsen Media Research data provided by the network. On Tuesday, nearly 2.7 million viewers tuned in, his fifth-largest viewership to date. And the conservative host got a plug from former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, who urged people to watch his program in a post on her Facebook page.
FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House, she wrote Wednesday to her 800,000-plus supporters.
Color of Change, an African American political advocacy group, organized the boycott last month to protest Becks comment that he believes President Obama is a racist. The group succeeded in securing commitments from at least 36 companies that have pledged not to advertise on his show, including Wal-Mart and Sprint. Some, such as AT&T and Procter & Gamble, were not Beck advertisers to begin with, but their ads had mistakenly appeared on the program. Representatives from those companies reiterated their request not to have spots during his show. Later today, Color of Change plans to announce six more companies that also are declining to be Beck advertisers.

Ah, but the LAT believes the LEFT is winning with advertisers pulling out. They’re wrong.
Feel the same about his style/delivery...but his info is the best.
You may want to skip his “Christmas Sweater” Production then.
While a nice story, it was a bit overdone in Glenn’s usual, overly dramatic style.
That said, while a “just the facts ma’am” guy myself, I can definitely see where his histrionics and timing can be most effective at delivering the message on a material, as well as emotional level.
Hannity annoys me. He comes across as a whinny school girl. Rush needs to groom someone else. Rush is getting up there in years ... he’s looking for a strong replacement and Hannity isn’t it. All Hannity has is a T.V. show. Glenn with more polishing would be better.
Beck has started a fire that is spreading. He is exposing the czar/marxist/commie cockroaches that have been appointed to zero’s office for what they really are: radical, anti-american revolutionaries.
I am most interested in what is happening to MY country.
Yes, I am possessive.
I HATE what Obama and the LEFT are doing.
Wal-Mart does not make sense. It’s like they are schizo or something.
Who protests the building of another Wal-Mart, Libs or Conservatives?
Who has demonstrations, to try to force Wal-Mart to Unionize, Libs or Conservatives?
Who insists that Wal-Mart provide benefits that their competition is exempt from providing, Libs or Conservatives?
Who calls Wal-Mart an ‘evil Corporation’, Libs or Conservatives?
Where are most Wal-Mart stores located, in Liberal cities, or in Conservative small town and rural areas?
Will the Liberals EVER be a friend to Wal-Mart?
Time for the BOD to start firing some Sr. Executive decisin makers in the Martketing Department; they have no clue as to who their customer really is.
I totally understand and I like Beck. Sure he acts a little funny once in a while, but I think this is his self defense mechanism to protect his sanity. If we knew all the facts Glenn has we would probably find some kind of escape also. America and your standard of living is being eroded and it hurts and I truly believe Glenn is sometimes very emotional about it.
I think last night’s episode was the scariest hour of TV I’ve ever watched and I knew about all of it beforehand.
I think that questions will finally be asked about the ‘civilian security force’ because Glenn had the courage to do what he did. God bless him for it.
“I skipped that. I’m not interested in that stuff.”

Me neither. While I like wholesome, Christmas stories and I do like Glenn, I would have rather stayed home and played my guitar.
Wives, dontcha know......
The LEFT hates WalMart.
WalMart is a capitalistic success without UNIONS!
We have our OWN heart warming personal stories.
I'm in his audience for political commentary.
***In many ways Becks style turns me off, but now this will cause me to watch his show.***
Too bad you missed this week’s shows. He has been dead serious in his expose’ of the Obama commis-czars. Frightning!
His sensationalism attracts attention, and the efforts to silence him lend credence to what he says.
Sarah Palin is doing her share to energize the populace. She is getting attention by just posting a few words on her Facebook page. It would be great to ave her show up in DC on 9/12. She'd rule the day, week, and year!
If you want to support Sarah in helping get conservatives elected in 2010, start now and keep going until 2012. That is the revolution we can surely win.
Rush needs to groom someone else.

And you’re right about Hannity. He comes off as the most narcissistic guy on Fox. And that includes BOR.
He spends more time talking to his guests about HIM, than just asking a question and letting them talk.
Obama has surrounded himself with extremists, including Zeke Emmanuel, a thoroughgoing eugenicist. And Emmanuel is not just an adviser,. he is on the verge of being given real authority to tell doctors what to do.
