Ms. Eshoo was responding to an audit published last month by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) warning one in four top-secret clearances issued by the Pentagon last year had no record of why officials had approved the applicant despite “significant derogatory information” that raised security concerns - most frequently about foreign influence or criminal conduct.
The audit also found that nearly nine in 10 new top-secret clearances last year were granted even though background investigation files on the applicant “were missing at least one type of documentation,” most often employment verification.
The Pentagon granted more than 450,000 initial security clearances, and another 180,000 renewals, to military personnel, civilian employees and private contractors last year, based on the results of background investigations conducted by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
Auditors reached their conclusions by examining a random sample of 3,500 files on top-secret clearances granted in July last year.
GAO auditors said their report concentrated on top-secret clearances because people with them “have access to information that, if improperly disclosed, could cause exceptionally grave damage to national security.”
The risks inherent in granting security clearances to the wrong people are illustrated by the case of Noureddine Malki, a naturalized U.S. citizen who worked as a contract translator for the U.S. military in Iraq. Last year, Malki was sentenced to 10 years in prison and stripped of his citizenship after pleading guilty of lying about his background, biography and even his name in his applications for citizenship and later a top-secret security clearance.

What happened to this law why isn’t it being used?
I remember how repulsed I was at what the Clintons did in the White House. They couldn't hold a candle to this group.
I saw this report on Beck, it was excellent. The White House is operating the way things operate in Chicago. The people who are in front of the media—the Emanuels, the Axelrods—they have things covered and usually can’t be outed. Its the “little people” behind the scenes that no one knows about that really have the power...this Jones guy is a real bum.

Its my personal opinion that the opinions of the FBI etc. were not particularly important to Barry and as such didn’t matter.
Where the $hit is going to hit the fan is when Barry’s minion Holder begins to directly assault the CIA etc. over the War On Terror.
Those agencies have a lot of dirt to dish up via leaks etc. Not the least of which is partnering with other intel agencies to leak things and Barry Sotero has a lot of stuff waiting to be leaked.

I’m really interested in seeing where Glenn is headed with all this....I just hope he stays safe and with all the pressure on FOX, regardless of his ratings, they allow his show to continue.

As far as the Czars go, I don’t think anyone other than the “White House” does any vetting. Don’t quote me on this, but I heard a report that said something about Obama only having been able to place 42% so far into positions of those who must be vetted. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why he’s ‘appointing’ so many Czars?

I believe there are patriots working in the FBI and CIA and they can dig up all that is necessary to bring down this marxist commie Rat usurping as president.
One would hope that after 8 years of Bush, that some patriots are still working at both agencies....but both the CIA and FBI are literally infested with Clinton holdovers, leftists and liberals. I pray you are right, but I have my doubts at this point.

That’s the answer, replace the confirmation process with Czars. This makes these Czars even more suspect.
