We were told the country was divided, the election stolen, that there were "two Americas" and a drunk frat boy barely able to speak had been selected by the US Supreme Court...yet on August 22 of 2001, President Bush's approval ratings were at 57% according to Gallup.
Today we are told the country is in a new era, the election a mandate for change, that there is one America full of hope and a brilliant orator has been elected by a huge turnout...yet by mid August 20 2009, President Obama's approval ratings are at only 51% according to Gallup.

One has to wonder what the numbers would be if Obama had to face the hostile press that faced Bush, and if Bush had the "tingling leg" press that Obama has.
I posted this type of thread before comparing Gallup numbers but Obama has since lost another point... and its fun to email this link to lib friends...-lol.

" and its fun to email this link to lib friends...-lol. " Indeed it is! And I love to remind them that Bush got up to over 90% approval rating which Obama will never see. And if I am really feeling spiteful I add that I miss the Bush days when Americans had jobs with unemployment at 4%.

I predict that Obama may get a rather ignomaneous 90% disapproval rating.

Notice how they cut the top 20% off of the graph in order to make the lines look more level.

But always remember. A lot of the disapproval is from people angry that he has not been communist enough, or totalitarian enough. They wanted him to deal with classic America harshly. He has let them down. Everyone keep your guard up.

One has to wonder what the numbers would be if Obama had to face the hostile press that faced Bush, and if Bush had the "tingling leg" press that Obama has. You don't have to wonder. For the two months after 9/11, when the media was petrified to criticize President Bush, his approval rating was around 90%. They had to work overtime for the rest of his presidency to tear that number down.

Spelling error. My bad. Should have been this: ig·no·min·i·ous [ ìgnə mínnee əss ] adjective Definition: 1. shameful: involving a total loss of dignity and self-respect, and making somebody or something appear shamefully weak and ineffective 2. despicable: deserving condemnation and contempt ( formal )

Sure. But we know that the trend can be misleading...because we know what happened to Bush’s popularity two more polling points off the graph on 9/11.....stay vigilant.

The important thing to note is that it isn't even Sept. 11th yet. Bush's numbers went ballistic after that date in 2001. Even staunch libtards came out in print saying, "Thank God we elected Bush." Of course it only took them a few weeks to "come to their senses" but they were on record by then. I suppose that was one reason they ultimately came to hate him so much.

And to put that in context, remember how angry the left was about Bush “stealing” the 2000 election from Gore.
To: icwhatudo
OH man. And this after Bush v. Gore? Obama is in deep doodoo. Strike that. Obama doesn’t care. This country is in deep doodoo.

Problem is, half of ‘em believe Bush knew about or even PLANNED 9/11. Sickies. They probably think the 90% was part of the plan. But, if that’s true, and Bush had such diabolical intentions, why didn’t he just manipulate his numbers to the very end. The answer is clear.
