I know I am probably alone in this, but a 14 year old “victim” does not necessarily a pedophile make, in my eyes. A pervert perhaps, a bad guy, probably, and someone whom I would probably beat half to death if it was my daughter. But I dont know if I would consider them a pedophile. At one time, many years ago, justice was dished out by the victim’s family and friends. The justice was swift. There was no aclu to demand injustice. There were no lawyers to plead for the release of guilty parties. There was no cushy prison life with air conditioning, TV, recreation, good meals and a warm bed. There was no parole. There were no soft-headed judges who let criminals go free.

For you younsters who think this that this type of thing never happened, it did indeed happen. I know of one incident on my father’s street during the 1930s in which man had molested a young neighborhood girl. He heard a knock at his door at about 4 AM, came downstairs and as he opened the door, five guys grabbed him, took him out to the curb and beat him nearly to death. A phone call was made to the cops and they picked him up and took him to the hospital.

He moved several months later. I would suggest that he never did that again. It was an extremely severe beatdown.

Cops knew who did it but filed no charges.
