In what is shaping up to be one of the more effective boycott campaigns in years, advertisers are abandoning the "Glenn Beck" show on Fox News following the host's incendiary comments that President Barack Obama is a "racist" and has a "deep-seated hatred for white people."
Among the advertisers to pull spots from the popular cable talk show are Geico, owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway /quotes/comstock/13*!brk.a (BRK .A 99,275, +275.00, +0.28%) /quotes/comstock/13*!brk.b (BRK .B 3,235, +5.20, +0.16%) ; Procter & Gamble /quotes/comstock/13*!pg/quotes/nls/pg (PG 52.49, +0.28, +0.54%) ; Sargento Cheese; and Progressive Insurance /quotes/comstock/13*!pgr/quotes/nls/pgr (PGR 16.01, -0.08, -0.50%) , according to the companies and Color of Change, one group that is organizing a campaign against the program....
Adding fuel to the fire is Donny Deutsch, a TV personality and head of the ad agency Deutsch Inc., which is part of the Interpublic Group /quotes/comstock/13*!ipg/quotes/nls/ipg (IPG 5.95, +0.02, +0.34%) . He, too, called for a boycott of Beck's show, saying on the air on the business-news channel CNBC that "this has to stop," and the "only way this stops" is if sponsors pull their support....

Ever think that this is not all about Beck? It could be Fox that “they” are after.
Stupid idiots. Look at Beck’s ratings:

We should write these companies and let them know Beck has twice the audience than KOtheJO, let his sponsors know they are supporting nothing more than a Daily Kos reader and if this is how they treat free speech, my consumer dollars can best be spent elsewhere. They want to play hardball? Let’s play hardball(sorry Mr. Tingles, this is for men only).
I didn’t realize the poster suggested government (taxpayer) subsidies.
You do know what socialism is, don’tcha Stevie?
Be aware that on the west coast Sargento cheese is called Progresso cheese.
If I were Beck I’d also do some digging into precisely why each company pulled its ads. Anyone know which companies were the first to pull their ads?
William Spain, Donny Deutsch and steve-b.
3 people that serve absolutely no purpose.
Last night on Bill O’ Blowhard’s show I saw an ad for AshleyMadison.com, I seriously freaked! Never would have imagined.
Advertising, like nature, abhors a vacuum......................
The boycott is organized by Colors of Change, run by Obamaâs czar for green jobs, Van Jones. Beck highlighted Jonesâ political background while covering all the czars, therefore he is a racist.
FOX didn't lose any sponsors, they just shifted them to another time slot.
Glenn Beck still has sponsors and is doing fine and yes, he thanks everyone for all the free advertising of his views...
..and yes, "O" IS a racist!
Sargento = 800-243-3737
I have already notified Proctor and Gamble that no longer will I buy their products. Will do so with other companies.
I just sent Sargento a message that they shouldn’t listen to people who are mostly vegans and wouldn’t buy their product anyway. I also told them I’ll be buying Kraft from now on.
Always include a label with a bar code of their competitor, let them see the money run away.
I know with some companies, insurance, that is not possible but inform them you have purchased from their competitor........money will talk.
The ratings were posted a few days ago. At 5 pm - Glen is outpulling Chrissy Matthews 6.7 to 1. Something like 680,000 viewers for Beck versus 108,000 for Chrissy.
What I love most about this is the advertisers pulled their ads at the request of people who in all probably never used their products and never will.
Meanwhile, Glenn’s supporters are cancelling their GEICO policies and buying another brand of cheese.
