DANBURY, Conn. - Immigrants are fleeing this western Connecticut city as the economy falters and the police department begins a partnership with federal immigration officials.
The partnership was announced this week by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency this week. It will train Danbury police officers to identify criminals who have broken immigration laws.
Sandra Machado, co-owner of Graphica, a Danbury design and printing shop, says she's seen a 50 percent decrease in sales because people are leaving Danbury. The Brazilian-born Machado, who currently lives in Bethel, said she estimates 85 percent of her customers are immigrants.

And whay exactly were they buying? Fake drivers license and passports?
Uh, then what's the point of the training? Not that it involves much training to spot an illegal when they ask in Spanish to be paid in cash or they're hanging out in front of Home Depot or when they're arrested for another offense and they give three or four different names.
Hang in there illegals,Obama will take care of you. You’ll
only br required to vote democratic forver.
That makes three of us.
There is no visible evidence here of any huge demand for design and printing from what is likely the same demographic. A lot of the noticias that pop up seem to be freebies courtesy of local "Gospel of Victimhood" churches, but even those couldn't keep a copy/print shop lit, let alone profitable.
I grew up in Danbury, left in ‘81. When I visited three years ago, the transformation was astonishing. A few years ago ICE raided the house up the street from my old home. Where a nuclear family of five had formerly resided, 16 illegals were detained. One couple even lived in a converted chicken coop. Supposedly they stated that it was a better place than where they lived, in So. America. I say this as a current resident of Orange County CA, where LEGAL immigrants from Vietnam have transformed some of the formerly declining portions of Bolsa Av into a vibrant community. Hopefully, the lesson will sink in; legal immigration is a plus for the USA, illegal immigration is not.
