Syria is experiencing an economic holocaust. There is no other way to describe what the Syrian regime is so much trying to hide.
The country is drying up, and no less than 250,000 farmers were forced in the past three years to abandon their land and migrate to the large cities. They live in tents there, completely neglected by the regime. These figures appeared in a special study undertaken by the United Nations and published on the al-Arabiya website.
The immense Euphrates River, Syrias main source of water, is drying up.
The Turks are stopping its water in their territory, so that Syria and Iraq are receiving a declining portion of the water. Within about 10 years, the river is expected to dry up completely outside Turkish territory. Today already, it reaches Syria with contaminated water and therefore its fish, an important source of livelihood, is becoming extinct.
As result of the drought that had been plaguing Syria for several years now, another important Syrian water source, the Aasi (Orontes) River, is drying up as well. Its water is becoming saltier and increasingly contaminated, and its fish are dying off. And without fish, there is no livelihood. Entire villages fed by its waters for hundreds of years are simply being deserted.
Ground water in the country had reached such nadir that it is no longer possible to use the roughly 420,000 illegal wells dug by residents over the years. If there is no water, there is no agriculture; people proceed to leave the village and move to the city. As there is no work there either, the distress is terrible and political pressures builds up.
Many of the farmers leaving their villages are Kurd, which makes the problem an ethnic one. The Kurdish refugees accuse the regime of doing nothing for them. For several years now they have been living in thousands of tents near the big cities without being addressed. REVELATION: 16-12. The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

Religion is one thing. People will always fight over water and food.
Oh Tara......
Come quickly, Lord Jesus..
I’ve become inured to the shock, of seeing Biblical prophesy come to life. Paving the way for the armies of Armageddon. What I’ve not become inured to, is amazement at people who are otherwise Christian, who do not or will not see. Must be Replacement Theology, clouding their judgment.
We need to start a food PEC.
That the way might of the kings of the east might be prepared.
In the infancy of the Christ, the wise men of the East, also called kings in the Psalms, came to offer homage to the kingly child. The prophecy implies that when this obstacle is removed, the way of the inhabitants shall be opened.
The drying up of the Euphrates will, in some manner, open the way for those that are signified to come to Christ, as those of the old did to the manger.
16:12 And the sixth poured out his phial upon the great river Euphrates - Affected also by the sixth trumpet. And the water of it - And of all the rivers that flow into it. Was dried up - The far greater part of the Turkish empire lies on this side the Euphrates.
And here the phial, poured out on the throne of the beast, is immediately followed by that poured out on the Euphrates; that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared - Those who lie east from the Euphrates, in Persia, India, and c., who will rush blindfold upon the plagues which are ready for them, toward the Holy Land, which lies west of the Euphrates
Yikes, Tara!
“It turns out that the ruling Baath party is at fault for everything. During the 1960s, the party decided to turn Syria into a grain-exporting state. They viewed it as a victory of the Syrian agrarian revolution. For that reason, they forced the farmers to shift from herding, on semi-arid land, to growing grain. The regime turned a blind eye to the hundreds of thousands of wells that were dug in order to water the grain. Any economist who dared to speak out against this policy was jailed.”

Uhhh, millenialism aside, we see the usual long-range ecological disasters of the command economy.
Just like the ecocide of the old USSR and China.
Never tease a weasel, and never tease a Kurd. This is going to be very interesting. Hope the Kurds have Stinger,Strela or Blowpipe anti-aircraft missiles to use against the Syrians.
Ive not become inured to, is amazement at people who are otherwise Christian, who do not or will not see. Must be Replacement Theology, clouding their judgment..EXACTLY.
Which is also biblically prophetic...
Titus 1:10-16 (New American Standard Bible)
10(A)For there are many (B)rebellious men, (C)empty talkers and deceivers, especially (D)those of the circumcision,
11who must be silenced because they are upsetting (E)whole families, teaching (F)things they should not teach (G)for the sake of sordid gain.
12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “(H)Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”
13This testimony is true. For this reason (I)reprove them (J)severely so that they may be (K)sound in the faith,
14not paying attention to Jewish (L)myths and (M)commandments of men who (N)turn away from the truth.
15(O)To the pure, all things are pure; but (P)to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their (Q)mind and their conscience are defiled.
16(R)They profess to know God, but by their deeds they (S)deny Him, being (T)detestable and (U)disobedient and (V)worthless (W)for any good deed
I guess the old “hate and kill the Jews” industry isn’t too profitable either.
I knew there was scripture that referred to this ... even so, come quickly.
Well, speaking of not seeing, I’ve got a log in my own eye, apparently. Walking backwards through the prophesy, have we lived through and somehow glossed over the significance of something so earth-shaking, that preceded this? Meaning the vial poured upon the throne of the beast? Iraq? Babylon? Our own increasingly severe problems of fairly recent vintage, here in the US? What have I missed?
Drought is no doubt an unheard of situation in the thousands of years worth of Syrian history. Furthermore, the flow of the Euphrates has been a constant over the millennia, it hasn’t gone up and down with shifting weather patterns and agricultural usage. Although I have become inured to the shock of seeing otherwise intelligent Christians unquestioningly pick out bits and pieces of prophecy whenever they see the slightest similarity to the events around them.
I suppose the naysayers will now try to assert that
1. Syria is symbolic . . . or
2. The Euphrates is symbolic . . . or
3. The dry river is symbolic . . . or
4. Their rubber 'bibles' have no such prophecy . . . or
5. That this all REALLY happened in 70 A.D. and CNN is just now getting to it due to terminal busy-ness with OThuga adulations. . . . or
6. It's all a viral spoof from the creators of THE MATRIX.
Or maybe they'll claim that Gorepusssscle caused it for more air time for his air-headed pontifications.
