Defiant response to health protests from Dingell (D-Michigan)

Congress' longest-serving member and a fierce health care advocate vowed Friday to push ahead with Democratic-led efforts to extend coverage to all, saying he won't be intimidated by protesters who disrupted his town-hall meetings.

"I am eager to talk about the bill with anyone who wants to discuss it. That doesn't open the door to everyone who wants to demagogue the discussion," Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., said in a statement the day after holding back-to-back sessions that got so raucous police had to escort people out.

Dingell's response to the furious crowd came as the Obama administration stepped up its efforts to dispel what it called myths surrounding the president's campaign to overhaul the system. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius held a Webcast in which she dismissed suggestions that the government will ration care or cut Medicare benefits.(continued)

So fluffy lefty questions are discussions.....

.....tough questions about all the thorny and secret details is "demagoging".

Can you believe he’s been there in the House since 1957 and he took over his father’s seat?! What is this: El Salvador?

“I am eager to talk about the bill to anyone who wants to discuss it”
—as long as they sit down, shut tfup and swallow the whole bunch of lies, hook, line and sinker. Who is he and most of the other congresspeople kidding—they want NO questions, discussions or opinions from their constituents as David Scott so arrogantly pointed out during his townhall meeting.

The 83 year old John Dingell assumes he is Congressman for life from the 15th District. There are a lot of Dim Congressmen like him.

I hope the Republicans take the trouble to put up some opposition in 2010 against these dinosaurs. They might be surprised and win some of these seats.

“I am eager to talk about the bill to anyone who wants to discuss it”

Translation:

“I am loathe to reveal anything about our plans to socialize American medicine and refuse to hear from anyone who might expose our intent, or provoke any further resistance.”

I was raised around Russian defectors—I speak commie.

HEY! No need to be insulting...

Even Salvadoran politicians know not to insult their own constituents, nor to act as arrogantly as the current nest of Congresscritters.

For this kind of arrogant corruption, you don’t need to look at foreign nations: just look at Chicago, Los Angeles, NYC, etc.

A Republican challenger who was a doctor (I forget his name) challeged the powerful, longtime Iowa Congressman Neal Smith by driving around the state in an Edsel built the same year that Smith had been elected to Congress. It worked! Smith was defeated!

Yes, and he has support. Unless people are willing to stand their ground, defend themselves and/or take a beating, the Democrats are going to force this through:

Message on Yahoo Finance board for HOG-Hardey Davidson.

Meet me at the Town Hall meeting in Teterboro NJ 10AM on Aug 14. Anyone that disrupting the senator from explaining the new government health care plan will get their asses kicked. Members of ACORN and unions will be there to prevent right wingers from ranting over the senator's right of free speech.

Link here. Click here.

Funny...when they do it, they call it "Free Speech". When someone they disagree with does it, it is called "Disruption". Very interesting.

Too bad I’m not there: I’m six feet tall and weigh 360 lbs. I want to see some ACORN or Union thug “kick my ass.” We outnumber them, and they know it, that’s why they’ve called in the goons. If we show up en masse, they won’t be able to threaten or intimidate us. We need to be twice as organized as they are, since they have the government, media and many of the police on their side.

...Sorry Barry, John and Kathleen, we've read the bill!

...Well...err... I have to admit that I haven't read it, nor do I plan on reading it. Just on principle sake it is not the Government's business to get involved with the Health Care system. The Government needs to be working on ways to 'shrink' its control, not to continually grow it. We're making a mad dash for a communist state - and somehow people seem to be amnesiac as to how the previous ones worked out.

But that said - the few snippets I've heard from this bill are truly disgusting: the effective elimination of private choice; more tax-dollars supporting abortion; the rationing of care by the commissar tribunal (or whatever PC name they give themselves) ... Our government has been taken over by a nest of marxist infiltrators (cheered on by a marxist media).
We are under siege by enemies internal and our Constitution is being trampled.

Liars! All of them! Wasn’t Dingell’s wife recently indicted? Since 1957....man, this has got to change. From now on, there should be a limitation of 1 or 2 terms. No wonder things can never be looked at from a fresh perspective, on either side of the party line. You have the same old stale people sitting in those seats!

One of the issues I have is the fact that no one seems concerned with how large these bills are. There is no good reason for a bill to be 1000+ pages long. All it does is provide cover to hide goodies for congressmen and pals as well as help to keep Americans in the dark.

Bills should be cut down to 100 pages or less and written in plain english, not legalese.

No rationing for those over 65- move along folks
