Never underestimate the ability of a tiny fringe group of losers to ruin everything.
For the last couple of weeks, we've all been laughing heartily at the wacky antics of the "birthers" -- the far-right goofballs who claim Barack Obama wasn't really born in Hawaii and therefore the job of president goes to the runner-up, former Miss California Carrie Prejean.
Also, when Obama was sworn in as president, he forgot to give his answer in the form of a question.
And yet, every week, the chorus of conservatives demanding to see his birth certificate grows. It's like they're the Cambridge police, Obama's in his house -- the White House -- and they need to see some ID.
And there's nothing anyone can do to convince these folks. You could hand them, in person, the original birth certificate and have a video of Obama emerging from the womb with Don Ho singing in the background ... and they still wouldn't believe it.
Which raises the question: Why, in this country, is it always the religious right that won't take anything on faith?
So far, the reaction from Democrats is to laugh this off, and I understand why. If you seriously believe that President Obama is an African sleeper spy, get out of your chat room and have your house tested for lead.

I would love for Sarah to come out for her next public appearance and hold up her diploma and her College degree and say “This if for you Bill” and then to give that perfect wink of hers. The press can’t help but cover Sarah and by doing so this would get more people wondering about the Birth Certificate.
Now there's a novel idea. This ought to be tried, since it hasn't been up to this point.

You can’t help but notice the antibirthers never come up with the actual “proof” that the birthers are wrong.
They just squeal and bleat because they have no proof.

The change in liberal reaction is nothing less than remarkable. It reminds me of the campaign against Sarah Palin. They know who could really rally the American people and wake them up.
The trend is changing from mocking to attacking and demanding the end of this opposition group. It tells you one thing; liberals think that treating the subject as a joke is no longer working. The threat to their communist reign is very real and HAS TO BE STOPPED!

I was not a birther...but the fact that the media and liberal reps such as the bitter Maher are so angry and riled up....gives me pause. Maybe there is something to this birth certificate...
This says it all. Liberals don't give one rip about the rule of law. They want their agenda and they don't care how it is accomplished. Citizens who love freedom and order should be VERY afraid...

I think they’re savvy enough, though, to know that if they “damage” anyone over the issue, it provides standing for a lawsuit in which the damaged party can demand discovery of the relevant evidence in the case.

* seek to have the evidence examined in a court of law
* seek to have the law clarified by the courts
On the other side, you have those who,
* call the other side names like birthers
* call the other side racist
* call the other side nutty
* tell the other side they are crazy
* tell the other side they are a fringe group
* call the other side conspiracy nuts
* say the people voted, the other side lost, give it up
“I believe that the president should end the speculation by being transparent about all aspects of his background,” Swain said. “In fact, it can be argued that the president belongs to the people and to scholars, biographers and others who are entitled to know every aspect of his past. Only great men can ascend to this height, and their lives should be examined and studied for the lessons they offer.”
Swain said that what is posted online for the president is a certificate of live birth. “It is the failure to release the long form that keeps suspicion alive,” she said. Swain noted that she strongly disagrees with those who want to criticize Americans, including journalist Lou Dobbs, who continue to raise the issue.
Other sealed records that Swain has called for the president to release include those pertaining to his education, foreign travel and state legislative business.

You know, I brushed that article off without reading it. Glad it at least had the calls for transparency.
