The entire birther argument, that Obama was actually born in Kenya instead of the US, making him ineligible for holding the office of the President of the US, is a spurious argument. It plays into Obama and the liberals hands - they want this to continue since it makes regular conservatives and opponents into fringe wackos.
Not one of us would've looked harder at his legitimacy than Hilary Clinton and the entire Clinton smear machine during the Democratic primaries. That magic bullet would've given Hilary the presidency - and yet nada, bupkis.
There are many valid reasons to oppose Obama and the liberals, but his birthplace isn't one of them.

You’ll have to point me to where their allegation is made. I find it highly dubious. Also, the newspapers constitute hard evidence, which is always tougher to debunk. There is no hard evidence at all for a Kenyan birth.

This doesn’t really speak to my point, which is to ask why, even if they got the facts wrong, the papers would bother to report a child being born in Kenya as haivng been born in Hawaii. What, did Obama’s grandma tip them off about her grandson being born overseas, and then the world’s stupidest newspaper employee mistook this for meaning he was born there? Not likely.

I love every story that criticizes the birthers. This is great publicity that brings the entire matter to the public’s consciousness.
The media scrupulosity ignored us which they should have kept doing. But now we are getting viciously criticized, thus are more out in public than ever before

Exactly! I am not concerned about his status as much as I only want him to play by the same rules required of the rest of us. Do we get to decide what info we are willing to disclose in our daily dealings? Like buying a house? Getting a passport? Enrolling in school? No, we don’t! Neither should Obama!

It's a hard sell because it conflicts with Supreme Court ruling on citizenship at birth since 1898. Obama was born in Hawaii and a citizen from birth. Ergo, he is eligible to be President. Arguments to the contrary are of the type that wants to overturn previous court ruling (Wong Kim Ark ruling) in order to achieve the goal. That's a pipedream.
If he wasn’t born in Hawaii, he is not a citizen AT ALL. Are you okay with disregarding the Constitution to that extent?
I am sorry, but INA 301 laws were updated in 1986 giving *anyone* born to at least one parent who was a US citizen birthright citizenship. So Obama has been a US citizen from birth even if he was born in Kenya. You could argue only the very narrow grounds that his situation was excluded in 1961, but even that is dicey, since the 1986 law change was retroactive. Thus, the Obama lawyers could argue that in 2009 he is eligible on the basis of the 1986 law affirming his natural-born citizenship state *no matter where he was born*. And SCOTUS would probably buy it.
Finally, if you and I and everyone else agrees: Obama was born in Hawaii. He’s a citizen... Then WHY is he HIDING his long-form birth certificate?
Why do people ask such leading-premised questions? the form you get when you ask for birth records from the state of Hawaii is the COLB. He asked for it, he got it, he released it.
He might not even HAVE the original birth certificate in his possession, and state of hawaii has said that there *IS NO* 'long form birth certificate. The COLB is the only form of birth certification, other than the original paper birth certificate, which state of hawaii has on record, and which a state of hawaii official says she looked at and verified his birthplace as Honolulu.
The point is not what YOU think is or is not on the B.C., or what birthers think is or is not on it. The real point is what Obama KNOWS is on it.
Another false premise. You cannot say for sure if Obama has it in his possession. Thus, he might not know whats on it other than the obvious items that are already in the COLB.
And it is something he wants to make we DON’T SEE.
False premise leads to wacky conclusions. Again, its not easy to get from state of hawaii he might not even know whats in it nor seen it.

Bama stated fairly early in his book, Dreams from my Father, that he has the original copy of his BC, with all of his childhood innoculations listed on it no less. That begs the question why he went to Hawaii to get a short form to show to the press.
My guess is that there’s something in his birth certificate and school records that he is either hiding, or very ashamed of.
