Several readers have written over the past few days taking us to task for dismissing so-called birthers as lunatics without bothering to refute their claims. We reluctantly concede their point. The birthers have managed to sow confusion in the minds of some who are not lunatics, and for the latter group’s benefit it is worth clarifying matters.

I don't see anything to "LOL" about. There are simply WAY too many things about Obama that "just don't add up".
So far, no evidence indicating that has happened has been turned up.
The memo from the Hawaiian official who says Obama was born in Hawaii. It is a fact she wrote that, is reciting that memo a talking point? Or just annoying because it so unamibiguous and precludes any other interpretation?
And some are not. Some posters here are both illogical and determined to exhibit a willful ignorance. Instead of arguing in a logical fashion they simply make accusations and hurl insults. This is the Alinsky-advocated tactic, is it not?

The time is coming when important people who cannot at this time join the birthers will say “Oh come on, these people are never going to shut up until they see the BC. So show it already so that we came move past this distraction (zero’s favorite word)”
The louder we scream the better. The more links we click on for BC stories (even if it is CNN) the better, the more posts we write the better. The media is stupid and slow but they are also cashed strapped. The bean counters will tell them that the advertisers like those clicks so if you want to have a slim chance as compared to none...run the damned story.
We are in a new age now. Bush bashers did not cost the Dems anything. We have a legitimate question that the left is attempting to quash by using our own nature against us. Conservatives don’t like to be painted as conspiracy theorists. Well hells bells asking for the same documents that every other president has provided when asked does not a conspiracy theory make. Anyone who wants to paint me as a tin foil lady can do so. It will not deter me.
As to the argument that birthers will hurt the GOP candidates, please spare me. This would require that the MSM report quite often on the BC issue. I seriously doubt that this will happen.
I repeat we are in a new age. So to speak the toothpaste will not go back in the tube. We have to demand the BC and discredit Zero on all fronts day in day out. We cannot be afraid to “get in peoples faces” on a digital level. PC crap is dead.
She’s a representative for the State of Hawaii and its the State’s announcement and not her personal announcement. You’ll notice the letterhead with the State of Hawaii seal and the Governor’s name at the top. That means that the State of Hawaii went over every word of that statement and checked the facts and made sure that when the State of Hawaii spoke — everything was accurate, perfect and legal. Those State of Hawaii lawyers were probably hanging on each shoulder as they were all examining the documents... :-)

It’s not helping him. Suring the time the BC story reappeared in the MSM (along with obozo “acting stupidly” and widespread dissent about obozocare) his poll numbers have been steadily dropping.

Here is what I’d have him do.
Open up his college records, open up the way in which his school was paid for, open the discussion on him once being a Muslim as his early schools have communicated, and when that ended, open up and discuss why his Grandmother said she was at his birth in Kenya, and ask why in the hell we don’t for every president have a birth certificate on record for the public view. America has already said it doesn’t care about him attending a hate spewing church for two decades... jeez we’re likely not to care about any of the above anyway.
My belief is he is an opportunist who may have taken advantage of his race and immigration status to get whatever he felt he could. If he had scholarships... why? Based on what performance?
But hey why should we care right? I mean he is the freaking elected president? Bah, just give him the codes and let him fast track what he’s proven he’s for... namely the “Changing” of America... from a Great nation, to a “De-Developed” country, and apologizing for the greatness that America has held for the last century, of course at the cost of all those poor world citizens(And Kenyan’s) he cares so deeply about.

But how do you characterize the resistance of the man in the White House to reveal what at least would be the beginning of being able to fairly examine the questions raised at such great expense to his funds, foreign-donated though some substantial portion of them may be?

As my archive will confirm, I am a “Birther” who believes that Obama was born in Hawaii.
I want Obama’s 1961 “Long Form” Hawaii birth certificate released for two reasons:
First, the “Long Form” can be legally “altered.”
There is a box (#32, as I recall) were all legal “alterations” are listed, explained, and certified.
The “Short Form” does not designate any information that may have been legally “altered.”
If there were legal “alterations” to Obama’s “Long Form,” I want to read them.
Second, the “Long Form” lists the specific location of, and witnesses to, Obama’s birth.
In 1961 Obama’s mother could have taken baby Obama to the Hawaii Department of Health and claimed that Obama was born at home, on a specific date, and that no medical professionals were present.
Based solely on her testimony, Obama’s mother would have been issued a “Long Form” birth certificate.
That information would be present on Obama’s “Long Form.”
It would not be present on Obama’s “Short Form.”
I am not suggesting that happened.
But the very possibility that it could have happened means that Obama must release his “Long Form.”
