U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison sent out this transcript of her interview with WBAP talk show host Mark Davis.
Hutchison said she will give up her Senate seat in October or November. That would set off the special election for May 2010, unless Gov. Rick Perry declared an emergency and set it for an earlier date.
The transcript:

Mark Davis: "So you'll be coming out at some point. When do you think its decision time for you? When would you like, when might we know?"
Kay Bailey Hutchison: "Well I'm going to announce in August. Formal announcement: I am in. Then the actual leaving of the Senate will be sometime - October, November - that, in that time frame."

Who do you think Perry will appoint to take her place?
No one..............

Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Michael Williams is in Amarillo today. I had the opportunity to visit with him briefly when he stopped at the Entrepreneur Alliance offices.
It was a fitting setting for the U.S. Senate Candidate whose message is music to the ears of Texas businessmen. He is one of the few principled and consistent conservative political figures in the country. His message is pro-business and pro-USA.
Put down the crack pipe and step away from the computer.
You are aware that Kinky is running as a Democrat, right?
Peter Principle?
Seriously I suspect that he has VP aspirations or at least that would be how I'd play it. I would hope that his conversion is a real one but he does have this nasty habit of veering left after an election and we're probably due for a rightward tilt this next cycle.
You’d think that sitting on the frakking RAILROAD COMMISSION would have stoked a few of the oil and gas boys to put some dimes and nickels in Mike Williams’ side pocket.
Ah, the Texas GOP: so close to Mexico. So far from God.
Best,
Chris
I hope he continues to listen.
I hope he continues to listen.
He listens long enough to get elected and then reverts back to his old roots the democrat.
You’ve said enough...
Maybe he is too honest.
This thread just remined me to listen to Comm. Williams’ 2008 Texas GOP Convention speech. Recent politics has gotten me down, I could use a lift!

What about the highway from Mexico to Canada, the land grabs associated with that, and the mandatory vaccine for teenaged girls?
I really don’t know Perry’s history, but it seems like he was in hot water with conservatives for those things...
Ed
Maybe Perry could join in the fun and quit too. Then Dewhurst could take over as gov and Perry could run for Kay’s senate seat.
If not, we could get stuck with KBH.
Now she’s from the right university but, I can’t understand why she thinks we’d want her DC ways running this state.
That’s all she knows now.
Novemeber isnt that before Decemeber?
I get my beebers mixed up.
She was also one of the voters in the senate that stopped the impeachment stuff with Clinton... I never can forgive her on that.
There were more than a few conservatives here who applauded him for that move.
Bu-bye, KBH ...
PING a few Texans here!
LOL!
I saw that, too! hahaha!
** Why is she doing that? **

Primary challege to Rick Perry to run for Governor.
Dewhurst would be the best of those mentioned. The one we SURE DO NOT WANT is Florence Shapiro!!! She’s at least as liberal as Hutchison.
