A two-year corruption and international money-laundering investigation stretching from the Jersey Shore to Brooklyn to Israel and Switzerland culminated in the arrests of 44 people on Thursday, including three New Jersey mayors, two state assemblymen and five rabbis, the authorities said.
The case apparently began with bank fraud charges against a member of an insular Syrian Jewish enclave centered in the seaside town of Deal, N.J. Eventually, stemming from that arrest, a federal informant posed as a crooked real estate developer offering cash bribes to obtain government approvals and the case mushroomed into a political scandal that could rival any of the most explosive and sleazy episodes in New Jerseys recent past.

“Three repubs. All the rest dems.”
One repub was a recent convert from the Democrats...
That makes it 2 Repubs, 42 Democrats, therefore it is Bi-Partisan, and not worthy of mantioning party affiliation by the Lib Media....
93.18% = Dems,
6.82% = Repubs
I bet libs will say the timing is suspicious, and view it as an attack on Obamacare.
Watching NJ tv channel.
A dem consultant said that it is more reprehensible to use this in a political way against democrats than the crimes themselves.
But of course, we have never had any dem use the political affiliation of a republican as a campaign issue.
Nosireebob.
Not even in my wildest dreams did I ever think Democrat Corruption would stoop to such immorality as SELLING HUMAN ORGANS FOR PROFIT.
I guess this is what happens when you replace morality with the religion of state. NOTHING is beyond the pale...
The legislators and public serpents here in the Democratic Peoples Republic of NJ have already taken away the citizens money, guns, cigarettes, fireworks, cooler of beer on the beach, freedom, dignity....for the greater good of course.
Why wouldn’t they follow it up by taking our kidneys and livers?
It was for the children after all.
“The arrests due to a two-year investigation launched by the front-running Republican candidate for governor, Chris Christie.”
This is a pleasant surprise, as I thought that Christie was the get along/go along type, and I had been lukewarm about his candidacy. In fact, I had paid very little attention to the NJ governor race because of my lack of enthusiasm for Christie.
One pertinent question is: Why did the US Attorney's office decide to arrest both groups on the very same day and publicize both sets of arrests at the same time?
I’m still not happy with Christie, especially after he and the NJGOP machine slammed the real conservative candidate (Lonegan). But, I do intend to give him a chance. Wow, 44 people - how much more corrupt could this state be.
This is a good question and came up over dinner. First, the corruption was being investigated in one County, Monmouth. And apparently, there was some older continued investigations that weren’t moving much. But then a fixer who was operating basically in both of these worlds, started lining up the players.
And connecting them one by one.
It was like incidental contact. And the fish kept jumping in because that’s what they do.
This whole case although many different elements was all connected. So when they took down the operation, they took it ALL down.
But the word is that there is more. How much more. Well one former NJ crook said this will mushroom into dozens more. Now each Rat (and they are mostly all Rats) will have to talk to save themselves.
It’s going to be a real saga let me tell you.
If you saw the quote from a former NJ crook, he says the numbers will now spiral in this case to about triple or more.
The singing will be a beautiful thing.
I hadn’t seen that quote. It sounds like this story is going to get even more interesting.
Many label him RINO scum.
I haven’t seen anything to indicate we shouldn’t give him a chance. Certainly he was the establishment pick but that doesn’t guarantee that he’s an arch-RINO disaster.
It just has. Hoboken Mayor (in name) Cammarano has refused to resign.
Corzine, Christie, Hoboken City Council President all insisted resignation.
So it’s started. Yes, he’s a Rat. A big scummy DemoRAT.
bttt
At least one individual has been brought up on charges of attempting to sell a liver. With some fava beans and a nice chianti?
