Not only do they NOT compensate the referring physician, they would both lose their medical license if such a thing took place and they were caught... keepitreal you clearly have no clue about the rules and regulations each and every physician works under; even changing their address is a huge deal, there is even very stringent rules about what doctors are allowed to invest in without risk of censure by the government.... do you know who investigate a doctor if he is suspected of billing incorrectly? The FBI! Doctors have huge overheads, between the cost of staff — which has increased because of rules foisted on them by the government and out of control malpractice insurance costs — as much as 1/3 or in some cases even more, of the cost of what they have to charge a patient is the malpractice part of their fee...yet I didn’t hear Obama say LAWYERS shouldn’t be making a freaking profit tonight! Just doctors... people want to bring down the cost of healthcare — get the lawyers out of the equation.
I think you are scolding the wrong person, AC. I’m not the one accusing docs of being dishonest.
He has never run a business, met a payroll, had to cover overhead or make a budget in his entire life! BTW, I didn’t hear anything tonight about tort reform and the cost of lawsuits on malpractice insurance.
Two things they never address: tort reform and illegal aliens...

You can also add that Doctors are not allowed to provide Pro Bono care. Medicaid is always a major loss for my wife and her partners. Pro Bono service, just like “lawyers” (including the tax benefits) are entitled to would do a great deal in helping balance the books.

That is correct and they cannot give cash discounts or the insurance carriers can charge them with over-charging, which is a felony....
Well, when they do then maybe we’ll make some progress, but until then, they have screwed over doctors enough with what Hillarycare did manage to get through and with ever more stringent medicare and medicaid rules year after year after year...which most of the private carriers use as their rule of thumb.
I know it was snurple, but since the conversation was between the two of you, i didn’t want to be rude and made certain I included you both in my little rant... snurple’s comments are tantamount to rumor mongering and show a real lack of understanding about how the medical community works and how hamstrung it is already by too many government regulations... more will not improve care or reduce costs, it will break the system once and for all, however.
