St. Paul, Minn. Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison said the U.S. government is trying to ensure the safe return of some of the young Somali-American men believed to be fighting with a terrorist group in their homeland.
Ellison said he has been included in classified briefings about efforts to bring the missing men back to the Twin Cities.
At least four Somali-American men from Minnesota who left to fight in the Horn of Africa have died there in recent months.
One of youngest, a skinny teenager from Minneapolis named Burhan Hassan, was trying to leave the fighting and make his way to the U.S. embassy in neighboring Kenya, according to family members. They believe a fellow member of the extremist group Al-Shabaab shot Hassan to death when the group learned of his plans to escape.

Some days you'd think it's been colonized by Somalis.
Why should our government spend one dime trying to ensure their safe return? They chose to go there and fight. The last thing we should want is for people like that to re-enter our country. Let them stay and enjoy living in an Islamic paradise.
Is Ellison the democrat who was sworn in with a Koran?
Exactly. To paraphrase: Once they go back, then never come back
Yes. And he is a Democrat, not a democrat.
Yeah, let’s all help Ellison bring a few more terrorists back to the US!!
OK, if these guys are traveling to Somalia to fight in Somalia's wars, then how "American" are they? It's a fair question to ask. Like German-Americans who might have "gone home" to Germany in 1915 in response to a draft summons from the German government, it's fair to ask whether they were just sojourners and whether their U.S. citizenship meant anything to them.
I had an ancestor -- Irish -- who homesteaded some property in 1862, but then went to the British Embassy the next year when Lincoln began drafting Irishmen to fill uniforms, and obtained a little blue card (it's still among the family memorabilia, almost as fresh as the day it was issued), together with a letter of presents, showing his British nationality (and hence exemption from the draft). He apparently realized he was being used as immigrant cannon-fodder and responded using the legal recourse available to him. But it raised the interesting question of why was he able to homestead, on the one hand, without answering the draft on the other. Of course, Lincoln's draft was pretty cynical -- as well as legally very dodgy. There was no provision for the constitutionality of a direct levy of troops, or an income tax, but Lincoln did both, laying hands without qualms on things the Constitution never gave him, and punishing people who failed to comply.
Minnesota - Land that voted for Franken, Ventura and this Creep
Seems like you got insulted? Freepers are great Americans and I am PROUD to be one of them. Are you?
Not so sure about Franken. I think there was massive voter fraud and manipulation in that one. Hats off to Perry Mason, who would have been able to smell that fraud a mile away, unlike the Minnesota courts.
That's probably why Keith Ellison loves them so much.
What in the world are you talking about?
I prefer Demoncrat.
If the briefings were classified why is he disclosing them so that whoever is “holding” these people knows a rescue attempt is planned?
Muslim Keith looking out for muslim killers.
Expect many more to be imported in the the US.

Take a cab for transportation...
Say what you want but the Republican Governor did absolutely nothing to stop the fraud even with evidence shown directly to him.
But Hey, In Georgia we have a twice elected veterinarian who prayed to stop our drought.
Just a reminder to all that Senators and Congressman DO NOT HAVE OR NEED SECURITY CLEARANCE.
It has only been in the last couple of years that they have agreed to take sworn "secrecy oaths" for access to classified material.
But that is not clearance. They don't "need" clearance.
In contrast, some Congressional staffers - because they are not elected officials - DO usually obtain clearance.
It's all about the separation of powers.
But when you hear about classified information leaks to the Slimes and ComPost, remember this fact. Staffers can be prosecuted, Senators and Representatives have ZERO legal exposure.
I never did understand the Republican Governor thing. They must have had something on him is the only thing I could figure out.
