I’m missing something. Why is this news? Haven’t we all known this all along?

You can run all you want... the Constitution has requirements you must meet to be installed in the office...

Ford was elect to the office but he was President...

I could see a case when you could run and be elected while under 35 just so long and you were 35 by inauguration day...

You can have people in offices that are in Presidential line of secession that do not meet the Constitution requirements for President because if it came to it they would not be installed in the office ... it would just go to the next in line

The Constitution does not contain enforcement provisions.
Our Congress has never seen the need to spell out enforcement of this matter, or regulations that might help us now would exist.

Thats true, and is how Obama skated through the system with out being Vetted.

He was "vetted" because no farkin' republican had the stones to ask for proof. Because Juan McAmnesty rolled over, licked his atrophied testicles, presented HIS birth certificate, and then shut the h*ll up.

We are where we are now because the Dem strategy of nominating an ersatz black man, so they could claim everything was racist, worked like a charm. Because they knew the republicans had no guts, no stones, and no backbones.

The real, genuine responsible party for this whole disgusting takeover of the Republic is none other than the GOP.

All these tangents about who vets candidates and all of the other esoteric fine points are not relevant (to me anyway). The Constitution says what the qualifications are. It is up to us to see that the Constitution is upheld as the law of the land. Any bloody citizen of the United States is empowered to uphold and enforce the Constitution. The Constitution doesn't say it's OK to elect a non native born person just because no one has the stomach to ask for proof. It doesn't say the said person is retroactively legitimized because proof was not requested at a certain time.

IMHO, this is all being made much more complicated that it really is. He is, or he isn't. If he is, then we are stuck with him. If he isn't, then he should go. And if it should come down to evicting him from the WH like some deadbeat that hasn't paid the rent, well then, too bad, that is what should happen.

What does one expect from the FEC? They NOT only let a KENYAN run for President, but they encouraged Hundreds of Millions of Dollars, Pounds, Rhumenbi, Iran Blood Money in Illegal Campaign Contributions from Undisclosed Foreigners for the Foreigner Candidate as well as letting ACORN and it’s thousands of slimmy Affilates to run rough shod over Our Election Laws in 2008! Oh, lets NOT forget the Billions in free air time given to the Foreigner by Our American Media Propaganda Machines!!both in Positive Infomercials for the KENYAN and the Hench Thugs and the Negative Assasination Attacks on the Republican Candidates! And We still almost WON!!

You are WRONG!

Elections are STATE issues!

Even though Congress and the Courts have intruded, to some degree, and to some harm, elections are primarily in STATE jurisdiction.

Notice how each State can decide, in the Primary, if it wants a Caucus or a Primary.

Notice how each State can decide how to award delegates, in a Primary.

Notice how each State can decide how to allocate Electors to the Electoral College. (Not all States use a “winner take all” system.)

WRONG

Yes the Constitution requires the POTUS to be a Natural Born Citizen, however, that same document leaves elections to the States to control.

That is funny. I spoke with my local party guy about putting a requirement for birth certificate before any candidate can list his name on the ballot for 2012, and according to him, the states individually cannot do that for national elections. That is controlled by the fed election commission.

Simple NEGLIGENCE is involved here.
No State ever saw the need to require proof.
Up until now, nobody would dream that someone would even attempt such a brassy act as to run for POTUS when not Constitutionally qualified.

Therefore, Congress, for its part, never enacted any enabling legislation.

Therefore the States (Which actually CREATED Congress, not the other way around) never enacted enabling and regulating statutes of their own, in the matter.

I’ll sign anything if you have to assume the burden to prove me wrong.

Contracts and affidavits only mean something to people who are honest. They are tools to aid crime to others.

Don’t be niave, most people aren’t your friend and aren’t honest.
