Obama doesn't want to look back, but Attorney General Eric Holder may probe Bush-era torture anyway.
Newsweek ^ | July 11, 2009 | Daniel Klaidman

Posted on 07/12/2009 5:17:49 AM PDT by blueyon

It's the morning after Independence Day, and Eric Holder Jr. is feeling the weight of history. The night before, he'd stood on the roof of the White House alongside the president of the United States, leaning over a railing to watch fireworks burst over the Mall, the monuments to Lincoln and Washington aglow at either end. "I was so struck by the fact that for the first time in history an African-American was presiding over this celebration of what our nation is all about," he says. Now, sitting at his kitchen table in jeans and a gray polo shirt, as his 11-year-old son, Buddy, dashes in and out of the room, Holder is reflecting on his own role. He doesn't dwell on the fact that he's the country's first black attorney general. He is focused instead on the tension that the best of his predecessors have confronted: how does one faithfully serve both the law and the president?

They plan to strike fear in the whole conservative party by persecuting rinos like President Bush whose worst mistakes in his policies was caused by reaching across the aisles to democrat monsters who hate him.
A conservative needs to be partisan as the democrats are partisan but they are such slanderers.

Someone needs to tell Rahm Emanuel that folks ain’t buying the Bush/Cheney card anymore. You broke it, you own it. Obama is a FAILURE.

It’s the old bait and switch routine. AS the economy continues to deteriorate and Obama’s popularity begins to fall, look for those in his administration to begin all kinds of diversionary actions to distract the American people from the real crises we face...beginning with who is occupying our White House.

That isn’t working anymore on the economy and it won’t work to go after Bush. Americans know when they’re being led down the wrong path, and more and more are seeing Obama and his amateurish administration for what they are.

(Democratic Underground are watch our every move.)

They need conservatives to tell the truth, not to lie like the rino politicians and like the communists democrats do whenever they are wrong on policies , which they consistently do and have led this nation into both moral and economic disaster.
The LORD God of Israel (the creator of all mankind) has clearly stated that (Thou shalt not bear false witness) and that those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in TRUTH.

“Mindful of history, Holder is trying to get the balance right. “You have the responsibility of enforcing the nation’s laws, and you have to be seen as neutral, detached, and nonpartisan in that effort,” Holder says. “But the reality of being A.G. is that I’m also part of the president’s team. I want the president to succeed; I campaigned for him. I share his world view and values.”
like deciding not to prosecute the panthers for voter intimidation? that a view you share Eric?
embarrassed we went to the same high school.

Alone among cabinet officers, attorneys general are partisan appointees expected to rise above partisanship. All struggle to find a happy medium between loyalty and independence. Few succeed. At one extreme looms Alberto Gonzales, who allowed the Justice Department to be run like Tammany Hall. At the other is Janet Reno, whose righteousness and folksy eccentricities marginalized her within the Clinton administration.

No journalistic bias here, just good, hard hitting honest reporting. Janet Reno is certainly one of my heroes based on her righteous handling of Waco. Come on Newsweek, die soon and die painful.

LOL! "The gang that couldn't shoot straight..."

This pathetic witch-hunt will be seen as nothing more than fiddling while Rome burns.

If the Obozo clowns think that they can distract the people by drudging up Bush-era fantasies of torture while the economy augers in, the 2010 elections are going to be quite entertaining if not downright enjoyable.

There's just something about families losing their incomes, their homes and watching their country be mismanaged by socialist democrat incompetents that makes rehashing liberal falsehoods from nearly a decade ago completely irrelevant.

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/viewarticle.cfm/the-gitmo-myth-and-the-torture-canard-15154

This article lays out the facts about Gitmo.
Among other things, as Cheney has pointed out, a total of THREE terrorists were chosen for enhanced interrogations and they yielded results which have saved us from more 9/11’s. Just one more 9/11 would destroy our economy.

The Democrats (enemy within) have been allies of the terrorists for at least 8 years, since 9/11. They would rather see people hanging from windows at the World Trade Center, faced with choice of burning to death or leaping 50 stories to their “splat” death, than inconvenience the terrorists.

Going after Bush/Cheney will not help. One bit.

It will cause many independents alreeady wary of Nobama to question his priorties. (Notice how they frame it - Obama is against it). Not to mention, Bush is looking better and better every day.

Bring it on!

I'm confident that Cheney has done nothing outside the law and would welcome a “transparent” view of the Bush administration as well as the Clinton and Obama administrations.

Stop threatening and do it already!
