The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:
@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web
The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR
Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.
David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.
There is a harshness to a certain percentage of FR posters that I dislike and that I think takes away from the seriousness of the serious debates. (As a poster of many silly pictures and dumb jokes, we'll leave that part out of it!)
I've been posting since November. It's still hard to know when to punch the abuse button unless it is so obvious that *everyone* would punch it.
I'm still learning the ropes but a little bit more adherence to the forum rules seems appropriate to me if we can do it without becoming the PC-style speech police.
I'm beginning to suspect that we've got some kind of country club vs. bar and grill division going on. All these tender feelings are "disquieting". No street fighting with the leftwingtards. Might get blood on our Ascots.

I remember when we were discussing the intimacies of the President’s penis ~ as was Congress and the MSM.
When I see a poster call another poster an a**h*le, I hit abuse. Jerk? ok. But obscene names? Not ok.
I was the poster of that thread. There was nothing wrong with it, save for a half dozen ding-a-lings posting crap. I respect Jim's decision to pull it, knowing that those six posts would override the other 160 legitimate comments.
George Orwell, call your office. We have thought police.
‘You havent posted any examples. (Ill remind you that the use of the word ghetto does not make one a racist.)’
Good God!!!
The owner of this sight listed of long list of racist posts and then pulled the thread.
Are you living in a parallel universe?
Well said.
What say you saquin? Can you prove him wrong?
I hope you have read some of the Terri threads then. Those were bad days.
I don’t remember obscenities. I remember “close tags! close tags!” I thought everyone on here knew a LOT more than I did so I didn’t post much at first. But I don’t remember calling one another obscene names.
Something that I could have done without! Ick!
LOL! Me too. And A+Bert going bananas.

Oh! just a little bit pregnant.
Has nothing to do with "inner city" folks ~ just a place where people voluntarily gathered and refused to leave lest they be made unclean by outsiders.
The term has been misused in recent times.
So far I've passed on that kind of treatment. Maybe I shouldn't. I do some faux-swearing like d@mn, but that's the extent of it. I am not someone who uses that kind of language anymore (since I was much younger.)
Having the debates move from arugments to outright name-calling fights really bothers me and there is a LOT of that. But should you punch the abuse button because not everyone knows how to construct lawyerly or scientific arguments at all times? Nah, you can't do that. Plus it's no fun to feel like you're just sitting in school all the time. How do we know where to draw the line?
At the same time I don't actually see much racism although there are some "edgy" comments that could be called that in some quarters. Since the outside world is going to take what we say out of context, or cite the very few genuine (or planted) instances against us then maybe it would be wise to tighten up the standards on that...?
No, I’m oblivious to the thread in question. What was it about again?
The charge levied here is that of a pattern of racist posts over a long period of time (weeks, months, or possibly even years). One deleted thread is not evidence of that.
