Sometimes good advice comes from the most unlikely of places. In this case, it comes from a Bush. In an interview with Tucker Carlson for Esquire magazine, Gov. Jeb Bush stated the most obvious fact of American electoral politics today: if the GOP is to rise again, it has to stop hating on Hispanics or at least it has to stop appearing to be hating on Hispanics! Hes talking about you, Tom Tancredo, non-office-holding cable-news ranter.
[T]he demographics are going against us. Alex [Castellanos, Republican media consultant] told me today, for example, that there is not a district in California where Republicans are out-registering Democrats. Of the fifty-three districts I think thats right not a single one has an improving situation. Its striking. So you have a shift. Theres more minorities. The voter-registration efforts have been successful by Democrats, ACORN and the like. The swing voters are Hispanic voters in most of the swing states. And Republicans have done a poor job, sending signals that Hispanics arent wanted in our party. Which is bizarre.
The people that are on television are the loudest on the immigration issue. The emotion, the anger, is a signal. Put aside the substance, but just in terms of the language. It makes it sound like them and us. And the evidence is that after [the GOP] making major inroads, Hispanics have turned toward the Democratic party in the last two election cycles. Big time. Compare that to how my brother did and how I did and how other Republican candidates have done in the past and you can see a trend line thats quite disturbing.
Its possible [to oppose illegal immigration without coming off as anti-Hispanic] but it requires a tone thats different. If you listen to the conversation, its not just words; its how theyre spoken. It has to be dispassionate, the language. But it hasnt been.
Bush also says this smart thing on the favorite tack taken by Republican tea partyists in opposing Pres. Obama:
Socialism is pejorative in America, so people stop listening. People are tired of it. That word wont stick. Its a turnoff. It doesnt help.
Most of us can tell the difference Jeb, why can't you??????
“. Compare that to how my brother did and how I did and how other Republican candidates have done in the past and you can see a trend line thats quite disturbing.”
Bush, McCain, Rove could not have pandered more to hispanics. This new ‘immigrant’ doesn’t like America....and I’m convinced the rinos don’t either.
LOUDER!
Dammit, no more Bushes!
“its the tone that makes them come off as racist rubes.”
Tone? Tancredo or anyone wanting the borders secure and law enforced NEVER spoke against Mexicans/hispanics. MANY AMERICAN Mexicans want the illegals gone as well. What about their ‘tone’. What wanting the rule of law enforced? Wanting our borders secure? The tone you speak of is SOCIALIST!
Your and the Bush view is turning this nation into a banana republic. Hope you like it!
Here’s some ‘tone’ for you. How do we reach out to people who want us DEAD???HMM? These are the RACISTS, and the Bush’s are just as guilty.
L.A. Latinos celebrate the Farce of July

Goodbye, Gringo America
Its payback time for white America.
Americas Palestinians are on the march, chanting Ahora es la tiempo por audacia!
Thousands of Latinos are gathering this Independence Day to celebrate the Farce of July.
This annual all-day concert and street fair is held on Cesar Chavez Avenue in East Los Angeles - - the heart of the barrio.
The event is sponsored by the Aztlan Underground to uphold the claim that the Southwest portion of the United States had been stolen from Mexicans and Mexican Americans ......
Members of the Aztlan Movement and La Raza (of which Supreme Council nominee Sotomayor is a national director) seek to annex California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and southern Colorado into a new nation: Republica del Norte, the Republic of the North.”
see Last years event poster
Sounds like a far-fetched idea save for the fact that the 56% of Mexicans and Mexican Americans, according to a Zogby poll, favor the reconquista.
The creation of a Hispanic Homeland, Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico, maintains, is an inevitability that should be brought into being by any means necessary.
But the reconquista wont end with territorial occupation and secession. The final plan for the La Raza movement includes the ethnic cleansing of Americans of European, African, and Asian descent out of Aztlan.

What a crock, Mcpain, the biggest Amnesty, anti-border, pro-illegal-immigrant supporter lost by a wide margin. And the only reason "the Destroyer of the Republican Party", Bush, won his last election was because Kerry was such an anti-military POS.
Had there been a true Conservative in the last election, we might have been able to overcome the no-more-bush's stigma. If Republicans don't win the Whitehouse for a long time to come it will be because RINO's are still running the party.
“It’s time for the GOP to understand that the Bush Family has been the worst train-wreck since Richard Milhous Nixon. “
Don’t hold your breath. Many here are happy to watch this nation go down just to support these Rino traitors.
And a very appropriate story, too!
Folks like Jeb Bush want the Republican Party to become a “Lite” version of the Democrat Party: All of the heartlessness, none of the backbone.
Well, hey! Man, it's good to see you. And I've missed seeing this:
(Go Pat Go!!!!)
Firstly: Could ALL of the Bushes please, just go away. You’ve had 2 family members to serve as Pres and they both blew.
Secondly: I would like to see Sarah Palin become fluent in Spanish and give lots of campaign speeches in Spanish when she is our candidate in 2012. Just a great idea.
So again, if you think he is right, you most certainly would be speaking only of yourself.
McCain recanted his past position by the election, which came after four years of immigrant bashing by Republicans. Of course he lost the Hispanic vote big time.
Jeb is right, it's just loony to go out of our way to alienate the fastest growing group of voters.
Swell, Jeb. So let’s sell out the nation and beg Mexicans for the right to continue LIVING HERE?
Well, Jeb, maybe if your puss brother had been more concerned with DEPORTING illegals than buying their friggin votes...
Tipper Gore has Al's in the lockbox.
I’m beginning to think the Bush’s and others are profitting from illegal immigration and the narco terrorists. EVERY objective poll indicated JUST the opposite of what they condone.
