Ethnic riots spread in China's west; 140 killed... Police sealed off streets in parts of the provincial capital, Urumqi, after discord between ethnic Muslim Uighur people and China's Han majority erupted into violence. Witnesses reported a new, smaller protest Monday in a second city, Kashgar.

From what I have read, this is the Chinese military killing Muslim civilians protesting for independence. The Chinese government said they were staging a riot. The participants on the ground said it was a protest. Whatever happened, there are a lot of Chinese bullets stuck in a lot of Chinese people.
They can and should expel all the troublemakers at once.
It's a crappy choice to make but if I had to choose between the chicoms and muslims I'd pick the commies.
For once I’m siding with the moslem terrorists. The Chinese have not been our friends in the WOT. They have aided and abetted Iran’s nuclear program. Let them reap what they sow.

The are Islamic separatists. Just like we see across the world, they deserve nothing. They whine like Muslims everywhere else and if they want to live in an Islamic stated let them move to one.
They are just Islamic separatists. Should Muslims be given their own states where ever they ask for it?
Wanting to form an Islamic state in the middle of a non-Islamic country is not a legitimate complaint.

Well, not the muslims fer sure, that is how Bin Laden got powerful.
The Chinese seem to be more capitalist than socialists, as in their social services aren’t cradle to the grave like in cuba or western europe. It’s more like, you are on your own, there’s not even medical insurance I believe. China has a former communist apparatus, because its convinient for those already in power to stay in power, so they can change policy while still being in control.
Today it seems more like fascist middle (neither wholy left or right) state. Raw capitalism in order to make great progress in a short time. I wonder where they will be in 15-20 years. I seem to be lacking a certain word to describe todays China..can anyone think of any?
Countries like cuba & north korea, well they can certainly be called communist.

In his defense he didn’t actually specify newspapers. I’m sure he gets certain news in the form of intelligence reports.
That's not the Uighur goal. All they're looking for, realistically, is the right to run their own internal affairs and to freely practice their religion without government oppression (this second goal is shared by Chinese Christians, too).
The policy of the Chinese government is to move Han Chinese colonists into the area until the Uighurs are a minority in their own home. Part of this policy involves actively seeking to stamp out the Uighur language, religion and culture.
In such a situation, I can't blame the Uighurs for resorting to violence. I'd probably be blowing up police stations, too.
Expel them to where? Uighurs have lived in this region for centuries, if not millenia. They were forcefully conquered by China and the Chinese communists have tried to make them a minority in their own land.
Ummmm...that is creating their own Islamic state.

Muslims are playing the same victim card in Russia, Thailand, the Philippines etc. It is all a con to create Islamic states within.
Well, I guess we can agree to disagree. I would hope we can agree on one thing, though, that Obama hates the US, Capitalism, and our Freedoms.
They are IN China, it is NOT their land. It is not Islamic land.
How about you show some pictures of the people that the Islamic separatists killed? Just like Muslims do everywhere else.
I’ve talked to a Chinese lady who knew people from that region.
She said that vistors (from China) have been stoned to death on the street because they went to a grocery store and bought pork.
They act like Muslims everywhere.
They have even blown up buses and talked about using bio-weapons.
