The Huffington Post issued an apology Friday evening for an article about the resignation of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin posted at their website entitled, Palin Will Run In '12 On More Retardation Platform, written by HuffPo writer Erik Sean Nelson.
The Daily Dose published an e-mail apology from Mario Ruiz of HuffPo:
Due to an editorial lapse, Erik Sean Nelsons post on Sarah Palin bypassed the normal vetting process and appeared on HuffPost but was never featured anywhere on the site. Even though satiric works are generally given greater latitude, Nelsons post falls outside of HuffPosts editorial guidelines. As such, if not for the error, it would not have been approved for publication, and was removed from the site as soon as our editors became aware of it. We sincerely regret the error and any offense it might have caused.
Ruiz's statement the article was pulled by the editors contradicts claims by the author of the piece that he pulled the article within minutes of posting it:
Within 10 minutes of the post, I received 2 emails from special needs families, saw that it was hurtful and I pulled the post immediately. I apologize for offending you.
Since you wanted to know what I was going for, it was that Palin said that she was leaving the governorship because of jokes. What kind of President would she make if she couldnt handle some bad jokes? I used her words to create a farcical situation where offensive jokes were meant to be ironic. I saw immediately that it was wrong and apologized on the site.
Tommy Christopher, the author of the Daily Dose claims his intervention on Twitter alerted HuffPo to the offensive article:
Also important is that, within 10 minutes of tweeting HuffPo editor Jason Linkins, the piece was pulled (although it took longer for it to completely disappear). On a holiday weekend, no less, thats an amazing turnaround.
Of course, the left only cared about the article because Free Republic had brought public awareness to the nasty piece of work minutes after the article was published.
From Free Republic the outrage went viral leading to HuffPo pulling the article to ward off a PR disaster. Of course, there was no direct apology to the Palin family nor was the author fired, so HuffPo's apology appears to be a PR move and not sincere.
He looks like about half of the younger, know-it-all, Dem jerks who live inside the Beltway and who are unable to recognize Shinola. I would be willing to bet his footware of choice is brown flip-flops. The other half look like hippie-wannabes.
#91 - Outstanding.
Sounds like they’re trying to retract flatus.
And note they didn’t take issue with anything said, just that they should not have allowed it said from their soap-box.
Whoa there!! Coming from a Conservative?
If anything.....THAT'S 'retarded'.

And right now they control two branches of our government.

I wrote a formal apology on the site, and it was put up last night.

This canned reply you are sending out to everyone is just reeking of sincerity...oops, sorry, it's not the 'sincerity' that is the source of the reeking, but, the piece of crap author of this slimy excuse of an apology claims that 'honor'!
Leftists always revel in that kind of vile, sophomoric claptrap. They are the exact opposite of what they portray (caring, compassionate, etc.) themselves to be.
McCain was born in the Republic of Panama, in Colon, not in the Canal Zone.
BS! It was up for hours and went out everywhere before they pulled it. They only pulled it because it really made them look like the blackhearts that they are and if no one would’ve compalnied on their side it would still be up! Liars all.
Too late.
and then...?
If only his uncle daddy had pulled out early..whoops just trying to be funny there erik..
Great post!
Thanks, Polarik!
EXCELLENT! A truer post was never made. You nailed it. These 2 paragraphs are ones that I hope many are beginning to realize are blatantly obvious if they just look behind the facade:
“There were, simultaneously, defending Obamas patriotism, which is an oxymoron because Obama really loathes America, loathes our values and beliefs, loathes the Constitution, loathes the American armed forces, and loathes anyone who loves America.
The same goes for his wife, who said after the election, that for the first time in her adult life, she felt really proud of America. Translated, it means that she STILL loathes America, but loves the fact that a black man is in the White House. I have no doubt that she would feel just as proud if a different black man had become President, like Rev. Wright, Jesse Jackson, or Louis Farrakhan.”
Unfortunately the division their ilk has created will not be easily, or peacefully resolved because they will not listen to reason or fact.
______________
The divide grows daily and I don’t think there can ever be a peaceful ending. The old school Democrats are not like these new America hating, Israel hating, Communist loving pigs. Our country is deeply divided and I can’t see that division lessening for decades, if ever.
yeah well, now arianna is getting a rude awakening to what she made happen.

HuffPo was caught red-handed with their pants down. Caught by FreeRepublic, I might ad.
Well, maybe, except for the fact that there's IBM Selectric type on not one, but two 1936 Panamanian birth certificates that purport to show McCain being born in Colon.
Now, I always thought that people forge a birth certificate to prove they were born in a place that has US sovereignty.
McCain's parents were in the military stationed at a US Submarine Base located in Coco Loco. The shoreline of Coco Loco is a whopping 36 miles away from the shoreline of Colon.
How far is Kenya from Hawaii? Like 7,600 miles?
