Romney’s blowing it big time. He’ll never get the nomination for president and he might actually make a decent cabinet member, but his backstabbing is going to come back and bite him.
As for Mark and Nicolle, any campaign that hires them will not get my vote or my money.
I agree with you that Romney is behind these attacks. Almost all that I have learned about that are sourced to Republicans appear to have Romney’s hands all over the attacks.
He apparently will stop at nothing in his effort to derail her.
given that Jonathan Martin’s name was mentioned in the story, Romney does come into the equation... also interesting NRO seems to be strongly supporting Romney and Krauthammer — who I really like — was making a point to say Palin had not gone back to Alaska and tried to learn about foreign policy, which she was “supposed” to do... he then went on to praise Romney.
His final destination there is assured.

I will second that. He used Politico to do a lot of the dirty work as well so the drive by media would pick up on the stories even if later one they would print a retraction inside the paper.
