[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.]
Can’t speak for the others, but I’m bored.
“...prompts a thread of more than 1100 posts?”
That’s what I thought when I scrolled into this thread.
Freedom is dying a slow, painful death, but the cheating senator, the abortion doctor killer, and a dead child molesting pop star is an irresistable mood-altering good time, baby!
Bring me my numbing needle, I’m feeling something.
The Iranians actually fight for their freedom. We sit, eat, pass gas and wait for the “next big thing” to come along and help us eliminate that nagging feeling that we should be doing something to save ourselves.
It’s disgusting, sad, and, did I mention VERY dangerous.
Not only were there rumors of Jeff Goldblum dying...there were also rumors that Harrison Ford died too.
Of course they were both a hoax, but I was starting to wonder what the heck was going on!
R.I.P. Michael Jackson from Sydney. i grew up on his music. what astonishingly talented guy, and what a tragic figure in so many ways. R.I.P. Farrah Fawcet too, lovely couragous woman. i used to have her poster hanging in my locker when i was in like 8th grade. geeze both in one day
“Its a huge story whether you like it or not. There are massive vigils throughout the country and all over the world.”
here in Australia it’s all that’s on TV and radio. Farrah’s stuff too, they’re running specials. didn’t expect to wake to this today
I agree with you! I can’t believe some of these comments I am reading....

“You really believe that? I think its quite logical to assume that he paid them hush money even though he did nothing wrong. You have to realize that even the allegations of abuse can destroy a career. Doesnt matter if they are true or not. I agree that he opened himself up to blackmail. If anything he was too trusting of the greedy parents who let their kids spend time with him, knowing full well what it would lead to.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I find your lengths to defend this creep reprehensible.
How come no child molestation charges against MEN like Allen Jackson? George Strait? Lee Greenwood? Garth Brooks? etc?
None of these family men. But only against the Liberal pop freak Jackson. I hope “MD” doesn’t mean “Doctor” with your logic.
Plenty of nasty charges against Libtard celebrities of abuse against women and children. Rap “stars” beating their wives and girl friends.
Jackson carried himself as a swishing, jiggity, crotch grabbing FREAK. If anyone invented “Metrosexual” he was at the forefront.
YOU may embrace that culture. Don’t expect everyone to.
Country super stars carry themselves as MEN. And THAT’s the difference.
..whose next?
You know, in threes?
I’m guessing Ted Kennedy.
Because you keep posting to me, hahahahahaha.
How dare you use facts instead of emotion! To the corner with you.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If you don’t find Jackson’s passing ‘a big deal’ why spend the evening posting condescending comments to fellow FReepers? Why not move onto another thread?
Jacko and Farrah are gone, but Yoko Ono still walks the Earth. Life just isn’t fair.

To the rest of us, its really not that big a deal.
So that’s why you can’t pry yourself away from the thread. Thanks for the clarification.
There is a need to balance the Liberal moonbattery-style of worship of this freak - by some of the boot lickers on this thread.
He won’t be buried though...with all that plastic he’ll just be recycled...
I’ve always thought poor Yoko got a bad deal. If people loved Lennon so much why not show some respect to a person who made him very happy for over a decade.
Who was the comic, who back when Lennon got shot, lamented ‘and there stood Yoko Ono, without a scratch on her.’ Colin Quinn?
I don’t think he was guilty of those charges. The evidence was not very compelling. He was just a very troubled and developmentally delayed individual.
Dennis Leary
And that wasn’t back in 1980 either. Well into the 1990s he said that.
