Farrah Fawcett, who skyrocketed to fame as one of a trio of impossibly glamorous private eyes on TV's Charlie's Angels, has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.
Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST at St. Johns Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She had recently returned to St. John's for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago. Her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal was at her side throughout her final days.
Like so much about Fawcett's life including her bumpy relationship with O'Neal her heroic struggle to beat the disease was closely followed by her legion of fans.

This is a thread of remembering her success, sad for her illness and good wishes to her and hers.
If the “holier than thou” crowd wants to judge others, feel free to start your own negative thread.
There was a report that she had married (or was about to marry) Ryan, while on her deathbed. I don’t know if it took place.
May the beautiful Farrah rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
She died a good death, having received the Last Sacraments of the Catholic Church.
That certainly is a gorgeous picture.
RIP, Farrah.
I am sorry for all your great losses. That hole in the heart...that longing to see their faces one more time..it’s hard, but we must keep on keeping on.
(I lost 3 sisters to cancer in the last five years.)
RIP Mrs. Fawcett. Sympathies to her loved ones.
They were quite modest compared to the “pin-ups” of today.
Yes Free Republic is a Conservative forum of ideas. We generally, that is those of us who believe in G_d leave the judging to Him. Even the Atheists abide by this rule here.
Just saying.
He asked her numerous times to marry him, but I believe the trauma of Majors kept her from that committment. Nevertheless, they had a son together and O'Neal had no other woman in his life except for her.
We should all be so lucky to have that kind of loving relationship.
Other examples of that kind of long life committment: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed.
Very sad. RIP & prayers for her family.
Rest in Peace.
It's not. We're showing respect for a dead American Icon here. Find somewhere else to post your judgments.
Farewell, Farrah. Resquiescat in Pacem.
Loved this movie Fawn!
She also played in Extremities which was a good one also.
Thanks. My daughter and I have had so many dreams about her dad, sister and grandmother. Some seem so real and they are very comforting. Don’t know why but we have not had that many dreams about my brother. My daughter took over the family business and it is doing great even in this economy. She and the others who work there say they have someone in real high management helping them and I guess they do.
Forgot to add that I am sorry for your losses. It is never easy but we have to carry on. God is good.
“But saying, as you seem to be, that we have to be PC here and use no judgement or values in our lives, we might as well be a bunch of brainless liberals.”

Excellent post.
Non-judgmentalism will be the death of us all.
That’s a great picture! Don’t think I’ve ever seen her without the poof.
My favorite angel was Jaclyn. Sad to see this angel go though.
I grew up watching that show. I suddenly feel sooo old!
RIP, Farrah. Thanks for the memories!
Who are you to question my judgement of her morals? God set a standard for morality, not me. He says that one is to marry for life unless infidelity is concerned. I'm not sure about the Lee Majors situation, but I believe the other one had been married and probably not scripturally divorced. Nevertheless, I'm not going to hold her up as a shining example to all young women.
Per God's standards, my understanding is that any of us can use that as a measure of morality. I wasn't ugly or vicious about it, just made the comment that indicated I didn't believe her morals were up to Biblical standard. In light of that explanation and also including the fact that in this nation (for a short period of time remaining anyway), we all have a right to freedom of speech here in this anonymous forum. If you don't like what I write, then don't read it. And, better yet, don't comment on MY comment...make your own about her life.
