"Stanford said he is resigning as chairman of the Republican Governors Association."

But he is not resigning the Governorship.

"Wishing he had been naked hiking instead."

What if it had been naked hiking with another guy? Would that be worse than the latin lover?

Much better we learn about this now.

I’m sick and tired of people in the GOP who claim to hold conservative values but live a opposite lifestyles.

Agreed!!!

Not only that but the GOP MUST stand in opposition to Sanford and demand he resign. Anything less will be interrupted as support and be seen as hypocrisy on the part of the supposed conservative party.

Yeah, this stuff never happened in the good ole days before we became a sex-crazed immoral society...

Well he needs to. If you walked off your job without telling your staff or your family where you were going...or even THAT you were going and stayed gone for a week, do you think you’d have a job when you got back?

How did any of that make him cheat on his wife and family?

Seems like some on Sanford's Team are testing the waters to see if he can bounce back from this. He cannot.

He needs to immediately resign.

There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of people in this country who’ve never cheated on their spouse and who live moral lives. Getting those people to enter an immoral game like politics is difficult though.

It’s good to be suspicious of politicians

Kind of makes it hard on Republican candidates when one of our (at least former) planks in the platform is morality and honesty...

While most folks don’t expect politicians to be totally honest (which is a sad statement in and of itself), how can the Republican Party claim the moral high-road when high-profile Republicans keep acting like Bill Clinton?

GOOD RIDDANCE.....better now than in 2011.....sheesh....clean house!!! TERM LIMITS on EVERY POLITICAL POSITION in this country!

Governor Sanford is already term limited. Term limits have no impact on adultery.

You’re right. What he’s done is inexcusable and shows an extremely flawed character and a lack of sound judgement. I hope SC Republicans help show him the door.

could it be since he didnt take the money from the Govt bailout...they have been following his every move? could he have been lead to believe...they found out and he better handle it or THEY will? I think this administration had it in for him...he is guilty as charged, but....I think it will be fun for Obama.

How do I detest politicians? Let me count the ways.

In politicians we continue to find combinations of evil and idiocy that are are unlimited and astounding.
