Within minutes, six-year-old Rubjit Thindal went from happily chatting in the back seat of the car to collapsing and dying in her father's arms.

"If we had known it was so serious, we would have called 911,'' Kuldip Thindal, Rubjit's distraught mother, said in Punjabi yesterday. "She just had a stomach ache -- she wasn't even crying.''

Rubjit was pronounced dead at hospital barely 24 hours after showing signs of a fever. Later, doctors told her parents she had the H1N1 influenza virus. She is believed to be the youngest person in Canada with the virus to have died.

Thank you for the PA update. So far, my county is not listed. It is sparsely populated—100,000 people, mostly farmland and small towns, one medium-sized city.

I feel so bad for all families worldwide who have lost loved ones to this flu, especially those who have lost children.

Every time I read the very first post, about little Rubjit, I feel like crying.

Thanks for keeping us all informed.

Feeling a bit stronger every day. Can finally breathe without coughing or restriction, but tire quickly. I didn’t realize how sick I was until I am trying to recover. I am improving, though, so that’s a plus!

If you think I am not totally ripping that Novartis now has a ONE BILLION DOLLAR plant in Holly Springs, NC, and $400 Million of it was a GRANT by our Federal Government!

I am copying and pasting the following from a longer article written by True Ott, Ph.D:

WHO EXACTLY IS “NOVARTIS”?

(Novartis International AG) is simply the world’s largest, multinational pharmaceutical company with over $53 Billion USD revenue generated in 2008.

It’s headquarters is located in Basel, Switzerland, home of the vaunted “Swiss Guards” who provide all security measures for the Vatican and the Club of Rome. The company logo symbolizes the “eternal flame” of the Illuminati “enlightened ones”.

Dig into Novartis International AG’s long history, and one finds that it began as a componentof the infamous I.G. Farben combine, which in turn was primarily responsible for the rise of Adolph Hitler and the German/Austrian Third Reich.

Dig a bit deeper and you find that Novartis also wholly owns a company called Sandoz – which was the inventor of LSD and other strong hallucinogenic “truth” drugs, and was the supplier of LSD to the CIA allowing them to scale new heights with their covert “MK ULTRA” mind control experiments. Documents released to U.S. Congressional investigators in 1977 show that Sandoz Labs had arranged for certain Nazi scientists to gain new identities in Allen Dulles’ CIA at the conclusion of WWII. This was accomplished under a secret extraction program called “Operation Paper Clip”.

The address listed on the Novartis Patent applications is a P.O. Box in Emeryville, California. Up until the summer of 2005, this Emeryville California address belonged to Chiron Inc. – the world’s second-largest INFLUENZA VACCINE MANUFACTURER.

Chiron was doing very well, with reported sales of $357 million in fiscal 2002. Chiron’s sales nearly doubled, peaking at a whopping $678 million in 2003 – and it was mostly due to the marketing and sale of FLU VACCINE CONTRACTS to the federal government.

Novartis, which owned much of Chiron’s stock, was very pleased, until disaster struck in 2004 --- the entire year’s stock of flu vaccine was found to be contaminated and was condemned. Stock values plummeted on the news. With the stock at a historic low, Novartis quickly purchased the remainder of Chiron’s stock and began immediately to work on the massive “novel pandemic flu” vaccine that they somehow knew would soon have worldwide demand – especially if they controlled the exclusive patent they could effectively “corner the pandemic flu vaccine market”!!

three new deaths in Utah...

H1N1 spread continues to slow
Vaccine » Some health departments open up doses to general public

The Salt Lake Tribune

Updated: 12/02/2009 05:26:29 PM MST

Three more Utahns have died and 37 more have been hospitalized due to the H1N1 flu, according to the state’s weekly update.

One person, between the ages of 5 and 24, died in the Weber-Morgan Health District.

A woman older than 65 died in the Central Utah Health District,

and a woman between the ages of 50 and 64 died in the Southwest Utah Health District.

A total of 23 Utahns have died from causes related to the flu since its second wave in late August.

Nevertheless, the percentage of patients seen for influenza-like illness has dropped for the fifth straight week.

In response to waning demand for the H1N1 vaccine, the state’s 12 local health departments, which control the distribution of the federally funded doses, are starting to change who qualifies for the shots or flu-mist.

Davis County is now opening up vaccinations to the general public, as is the Weber-Morgan Health Department and Central Utah Public Health Department.

Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah and Summit counties, along with the Southwest Utah Public Health Department and Bear River Health Department, continue to limit the doses to priority groups including children, pregnant women and adults under age 64 with chronic health conditions.

Next week, Utah County plans to expand to individuals that regularly work closely with children, such as teachers and day care providers.

The health departments had hoped to have the same rules on who could get the vaccine, but demand differed too much across the state.

To find out what your health department is doing, visit www.ualhd.org/Department/Department.htm for a list of their Web sites.

three new deaths in Stanislaus County, California (buried in an article about vax)....

Wednesday, Dec. 02, 2009

Swine flu vaccine is limited in Modesto area
County health officials still bypassing public in favor of high-risk groups
By Ken Carlson

Stanislaus County health officials still are directing available H1N1 vaccine to local health care providers that serve people in high-risk groups — passing over members of the general public for another month.

[snip]

Stanislaus County has not seen a let-up in fatalities.

Six of the 13 deaths in the county have occurred since Oct. 21. The most recent victims were a 44-year-old man who died Nov. 5, a 65-year-old woman Nov. 21 and a 27-year-old man Nov. 26. There often are delays in confirming H1N1 fatalities through lab tests.

Vt. Reports Third Swine Flu Death
http://www.wcax.com/Global/story.asp?S=11608115
December 2, 2009

Vermont is reporting its third swine flu death.

The Health Department says an adult with a pre-existing medical condition died in November. Officials also offered new information on how many people were admitted to the hospital since the pandemic started. As of last week, 130 Vermonters have been hospitalized with H1N1. Nearly one-third of them were so sick they were placed in intensive care.

Meanwhile, the state health commissioner, Dr. Wendy Davis, says the swine flu outbreak appears to be waning.

“Over the past two weeks, hospitals are reporting decreases in emergency department visits for flu symptoms,” Davis said. “Although still high, far fewer patients have been hospitalized over the past few weeks, since a peak earlier in November. To date, there have been three laboratory-confirmed deaths related to H1N1 flu, all in adults who had serious underlying health conditions.”

Davis says the incidence of swine flu is still widespread and there are still many people at high risk of complications who have not been vaccinated.

Japanese scientists discovered the swine flu virus blocker
03/Dec/09

In Japan, open a connection substances capable of, as the authors of scientific discovery from the University of Hokkaido “very effectively deal with influenza A (H1N1)”. Revealed a group of scientists headed by Professor Tadaaki Miyazaki combination of substances - lactic acid bacteria and a type of polysaccharide (aureobasidiuma) - is “more effective than the commonly known drugs, Tamiflu. In their conclusions, researchers based on findings of a series of experiments conducted in mice. Laboratory tests of a new product will ensure that the influenza-infected mice quickly overcome the consequences of the disease and restored weight.

This finding, noted in the Japanese medical community, can lead to the development in the Land of the Rising Sun of new reliable products for rapid treatment of patients infected with swine influenza. ITAR-TASS news agency, citing figures from local authorities, said that the epidemic of influenza A (H1N1) in Japan over the past few months have already died, about 70 people, more than 10 thousand were hospitalized due to complications of diseases.

Onishchenko denies reports of pulmonary plague in the Saratov Region
02/Dec/09

MOSCOW, Dec. 2 - RIA Novosti. Chief state sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko, Russia calls the provocation appeared in the media about an outbreak of pneumonic plague among the population of Saratov, Saratov Region.

Panic in Saratov began in the second half of Wednesday. Residents were telling each other about allegedly discovered in the region of pulmonary plague, and therefore in the city on the night of Dec. 3 will be disinfected with helicopters and planes. For this to close the windows and doors, to make drinking water supplies.

Officials from the Ministry of Health and Rospotrebnadzor denied rumors suggesting that the reason for concern of citizens was an epidemic of swine flu. From 19 November to 2 December from complications caused by influenza A/H1N1, 30 people died in the region, still have 466 doctors have confirmed the presence of the virus.

“There is a deliberate provocation, panic among the population. What are the objectives pursued, I do not know, and I know I do not want. But in any case, the criminal, when in the tense epidemic situation settled far away from medical issues,” - said Onishchenko, RIA Novosti on Wednesday .

Territorial management Rospotrebnadzor officially denied rumors about the upcoming sanitized city aviation.

“The address of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor Saratov region received widespread calls from the public about the alleged target of processing the city of Saratov and Saratov region. I bring to your attention that there is no treatment with disinfection facilities were planned and there would be no, there’s no need” - are the report’s chief sanitary doctor of the region Alexei Danilov.

In turn, the regional head Pavel Ipatov told reporters that those rumors about the allegedly registered in the region, cases of pneumonic plague will be brought to justice.

Regarding the incidence of influenza and ARI in the region, Onishchenko noted that the peak has passed and now the trend is expected to decrease. However, the epidemic threshold for the disease so far exceeded, mostly school children suffer from 7-14 years and adults. A significant proportion of the morbidity structure is the so-called swine flu.

“The situation at present tense, as is exceeded the epidemic threshold of disease. However, we are seeing a downward trend”, - said Onishchenko.

Earlier, the chief medical officer of Saratov Nikolai Pavlov and chief medical officer of the Saratov region Alexei Danilov also denied rumors circulating in the region of alleged cases of pneumonic plague infection and conducting mass disinfection of the city.

“Saratov closed will not be anything sprayed from the air will not, no plague, no,” - said Danilov.

“There have been carried out all necessary research, carefully studied by analysis of cases. No signs of this disease is not observed, there is no cause for panic,” - said Pavlov.

Pneumonic plague, which begins as an ordinary pneumonia, is an acute course and is accompanied by very high mortality rate. The incubation period of the disease is not more than four days.

Symptoms of pneumonic plague are chills, fever, headache, weakness. The symptoms of pneumonia - cough with phlegm, chest pain, shortness of breath - usually appear on the second day of the disease. Observed haemoptysis, growing respiratory disorders, heart failure, respiratory failure, shock.

EU: no safety concerns as 10 million get H1N1 shots

Thu Dec 3, 2009 11:36am GMT
http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE5B224520091203?rpc=401&feedType=RSS&feedName=healthNews&rpc=401

LONDON (Reuters) - Some 10 million people across the European Union have now been vaccinated against H1N1 swine flu and so far no unexpected serious safety issues have been identified, the region’s drugs watchdog said on Thursday.

The most frequent adverse reactions have been fever, nausea, headache, allergic reactions and injection site pain, but these were mostly non-serious and had been expected, the European Medicines Agency said.

The safety update is the first analysis of adverse reactions following the roll-out of three vaccines across Europe — GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix, Novartis’s Focetria and Baxter’s Celvapan.

New clinical trial data did show a greater incidence of fever following the second dose of Pandemrix in babies from 6 to 35 months and an assessment of that data was ongoing, the agency added.

Memories of 1957

Thu Dec 3 2009
http://www.thestar.com/living/article/733511—memories-of-1957

Q: Once you have the H1N1 flu, are you immune to it?

A: If you’ve already had H1N1, you have protection, but only if you’re exposed to the same strain of the virus that laid you low. Once your immune system encounters a bug, it creates memory cells that rapidly produce antibodies to fight a second attack of the same bug. That’s called acquired immunity, and it’s the same process that occurs when you get a flu shot that contains a killed version of the virus.

That sounds great, but the unfortunate fact is flu viruses mutate all the time to avoid the killers, so the next time you encounter H1N1, it might be slightly different and your immune system might not recognize it. But a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests you still might have partial immunity, so a bout with the new, “improved” H1N1 might not be as severe as your first. The CDC found that those born before 1957 are less likely to get this flu and, when they do, get a mild case because they were previously infected with a similar virus, which left some helpful antibodies behind – not strong enough for a total virus smackdown, but enough to lessen symptoms.

H1N1 flu hits NKorea border

Dec 3, 2009
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Asia/Story/STIStory_462106.html

SEOUL - NORTH Korean health officials have detected a H1N1 flu outbreak in a northwestern city bordering China, an aid group said on Thursday.

The infection was found in Sinuiju, prompting authorities to take emergency countermeasures, Good Friends, a Seoul-based aid group which operates in the North, said in a newsletter.

The number of North Korean children infected with A(H1N1) flu has been increasing because the anti-viral drug Tamiflu is rare in the communist country, the group said.

Pyongyang has not officially reported any cases of H1N1 flu in the country, citing an all-out campaign to prevent outbreaks. — AFP
