I am with you with so many different excuses. Whatever happened, Sanford being gone on Father’s Day with four boys and not contacting his family speaks no matter what else comes out.
I’d choose Sanford over Palin any day.
The left has been out to destroy Sanford ever since he refused stimulus $. Unfortunately, he should have seen it coming and been clear as a bell about his plans. He’d still get my vote!
Those who don’t see anything wrong have their heads in the sand. he gave the media the ammo with which to bombard him. even if his activities are not sketchy, the circumstances surrounding his absence permit him to be painted in a bad light and show political naivete which doesn’t bode well for a run for higher ofc. instead of blaming those reacting, the blame is better place on he who set the wheels in motion, by his behavior, to permit such a reaction.

AND MOST IMPORTANT, the copy of the WRITTEN transfer of power and plan of action for contacting him in case of emergency. In which case he should also nail the Lt. Gov for lying and fire the incompetent staff who couldn’t answer the question.

The Gov reportedly has a history of vanishing for days at a time. Why _____ ? Why does his staff cover up and lie and lie ? Horrors! Is the Gov a closet tango fanatic ______ ?
If the rodents were held to the standard with which Sanford is being held to by the media and their so-called “reporting”, there wouldn’t be any in office. No one would want to run for office. There has NEVER been any allegations made against Sanford in his career about infidelity. None. To see the speculation is incredible. Cannibalizing ourselves. Really makes me ashamed. No wonder we can’t get any decent people to run for office when they can be slimed so easily, yet the bad guys will run because they have no sense of shame.

But this is so silly. And it shows just how quickly the GOP “base” has been conditioned by our media to throw our own best people over the side.
Think back to 1994. Newt Gingrich was thrown over the side like this. The GOP never recovered.

It’s a long fall from that soapbox of yours trying to denigrate anyone here who feels this is shaky ground that Sanford is on by the FACTS that have come out thus far. I sincerely hope he can explain all of this and does so very soon. I like Sanford and want him to get out from under this. What I wished had happened: Gov Sanford secretly went to Hawaii to secure an official copy of the birth certificate of one Barry Soetoro. So when public opinion of Barry wanes he arrives on a white horse to save the day and the country.
What probably happened: Some sleazeball cover up because he was being blackmailed by a one time “boyfriend”. Or a secret trip to see his mistress in Argentina.
Keep it up the MSM loves Republicans like you. It makes their work easier. Demand to know if he has done this before.

His vacation in Argentina would only work if he wore a video camera on himself at all times just so he could ambush the press by releasing all the tapes to prove the press was trying to ambush him.
Nobody needs to demand anything. Reports are that he’s done this before. More than once. But that’s probably not a “FACT” since it doesn’t correspond with what others WANT to believe.
John Ensign ? Actually, no. Most of the Senators have already been sucked into the morass of corruption and statism. After they’ve been there about 6 years, they start to lose their souls (it just so happened Sanford got out of DC at precisely 6 years and went home). Ensign has been in office for all except 2 years since 1994. I had to laugh when the media said he was some sort of Conservative paragon and 2012 Presidential candidate, because he certainly was neither, not until the media claimed he was AFTER news of the affair came out. It’s just all part of their propaganda smear machine.
