This is so not an issue. Look I intend to work very hard to assure that a particular (other) GOP candidate defeats Sanford in 2012.
But this is so silly. And it shows just how quickly the GOP “base” has been conditioned by our media to throw our own best people over the side.
Think back to 1994. Newt Gingrich was thrown over the side like this. The GOP never recovered.
The guy is an individual. Not a dull, clone-like dork.

His vacation in Argentina would only work if he wore a video camera on himself at all times just so he could ambush the press by releasing all the tapes to prove the press was trying to ambush him.
you know, i am not governor of a state but i sure as hell would be held to account if i up and left my job for a week in Argentina without notice. and i have to disagree with you, Ensign most assuredly did demonstrate clay feet with the affair with a staffer, and i don’t care WHO was blackmailing him or threatening to, he put himself in the position.
