It has been my experience that people who are hung up on titles, particularly their own titles, are generally insecure about themselves and/or their position or claim to that title. It has also been my experience that people who are insecure about something, usually have good reason to be. They tend to know best if/when they are in over their head, or are in a position they don't deserve, or are doing something they shouldn't be.
In short, all she has really done is re-affirm that she is in fact ill-prepared and ill-equipped to be a US Senator.
I heard the audio of the exchange on Mike Gallagher. Hat's off to the General for managing to say "Yes Senator" in response to her snit -- without letting a sarcastic tone creep into his voice.
