Yes ma'am, you should apologize.
The General put more on the line than you did to get where he is, ma'am.

I’ve had the honor to know two generals slightly. In my experience I’d prefer 100 of them to 100 Babsy Boxers in the senate.

It has been my experience that people who are hung up on titles, particularly their own titles, are generally insecure about themselves and/or their position or claim to that title. It has also been my experience that people who are insecure about something, usually have good reason to be. They tend to know best if/when they are in over their head, or are in a position they don't deserve, or are doing something they shouldn't be.
In short, all she has really done is re-affirm that she is in fact ill-prepared and ill-equipped to be a US Senator.
I heard the audio of the exchange on Mike Gallagher. Hat's off to the General for managing to say "Yes Senator" in response to her snit -- without letting a sarcastic tone creep into his voice.

It is hard to become a general without learning to control your emotions.
Any neurotic nitwit can become a Senator. It appears to be a major selector in fact.
