Obama Accuses Fired Inspector General of AmeriCorps of Being 'Confused, Disoriented' (WOW)
Fox ^ | 6/16/09 | Majpor Garrett

Posted on 06/16/2009 9:25:45 PM PDT by pissant

WASHINGTON -- Responding to criticism from a Senate Democratic ally, President Obama explained why he fired the Inspector General of the AmeriCorps without the 30-day notification required by law, calling Gerald Walpin so "confused" and "disoriented" that there was reason to question "his capacity to serve."

In a letter to the bipartisan leaders of the Senate Committee that oversees AmeriCorps, Obama listed these alleged defects in Walpin's leadership as an Inspector General.

* Removed after unanimous request from the AmeriCorps board of directors

* At May, 20, 2009, board meeting Walpin "was confused, disoriented and unable to answer questions and exhibited behavior that led the board to question his capacity to serve."

* The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California complained about Walpin's conduct to the IG oversight board and alleged he withheld exculpatory evidence.

* Walpin had "been absent from the Corporation's headquarters, insisting upon working from his home in New York over the objection" of the board.

* He "exhibited a lack of candor in providing material information to decision makers."

* He "engaged in other troubling and inappropriate conduct."

* He "had become unduly disruptive to agency operations, impairing his effectiveness."

Wow!! He seemed pretty on the ball on Glenn Beck.

Let’s hope this guy continues to go on news programs to prove how with it he really is and expose Obama even more.

Zer0 can't just make up his own stupid reasons for disobeying the United States Code:

Why not? He's already violated United States Code in forging a false identification document.

I’d say the firing should be considered a very serious offense, given the law he broke (required 30 days notice to Congress) and the aplomb with which he broke it. It is a test to see how much he can get away with, but this time, he has directly thumbed his nose at Congress. In any case, the fact that this is becoming publicized ought to at least jog Congress into an remembrance of its role in providing checks and balances on the executive branch.

He won remember. He gets to be our ruler for the next four years, just ask anyone that voted for him if Obama is their ruler.....

They not only get rid of him; they ruin his credibility and reputation for competence and thus his ability to get another job.

Obama is masterfully applying Alinsky's Rules for Radicals:

Rule #5 Ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

Rule #13 Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

If this were a novel, I’d anticipate that within a few chapters, Michelle 0bama would be in it up to her lantern jaw; and that the inspector has gotten booted because he had the audacity to start a file on her and her hoofprints.
Now, life is not like a novel, although increasingly novels are like life (often messy, unchallenging and apparently senseless).
So in the trashy realism genre, the elderly inspector probably used the word “knickers” and nobody in the 0bie regime knows that is not a racial slur. And nobody’d have cared except that the man had evidence of criminal behavior by the FLOTUS.

I’d still like to know who got possession of his files, and whether he was locked out of his office before he had a chance to secure everything.

“Removed after unanimous request from the AmeriCorps board of directors “

That seems strange, as it was the AC board that asked him to investigate Obama's friend who is a California politician.

When he proved wrongdoing, Present Baby Daddy purged him with out following the law of the 30 day rule

"Eisen charged that at a May 20, 2009 board meeting Walpin "was confused, disoriented, unable to answer questions and exhibited other behavior that led the Board to question his capacity to serve."

What's wrong with that statement?

We are taught when a normal person displays unusual behavior such as this, it would be important to have that person seek immediate medical help.

The man could have been stroking, FGS.

It would be highly unusual to fire someone for that unless they were drunk or high.

“Is the guy a drunk”

Just a thought...why not question Obama’s firing of him which was illegal on it’s face (must give 30 days notice) under the circumstances the man had found an Obama friend with his hand in the federal cookie jar to the tune of 3/4 of a million bucks, BEFORE you invent something bad about him in order to explain Obama’s actions.

Well, thankfully this IG isn’t going to go quietly. As of yesterday on Glen Beck he was contemplating his next move. This was before being called an Alzheimer’s patient by the WH so it will be interesting to see how that ups the ante.

FOX is the only station that has dared to mention BC...FOX-NATION even asked if it was “old news” and had large numbers of comments.....bHo is afraid of FOX. He is trying to minimize it...If he tries to remove FOX reporters from his authorized news conferences they will go elsewhere for their news....DOn’t think he’d like that at all.

* Removed after unanimous request from the AmeriCorps board of directors

That should be the LAST reason you'd want to remove an Inspector General!

This guy isn’t some little nobody.

He has a great reputation and must know tons of other important somebodys.

This is fascinating.

By the way, the name of Major Garrett is misspelled. It is spelled “Majpor Garrett” (whoever that is).

BEFORE you invent something bad about him

I didn't invent anything. "Confused + disoriented" and "Works at home" sounds like classic substance abuse issues to me. It doesn't surprise me in the least that 0bozo would flaunt the rules and fire someone to provide cover for his wrongdoing. He can do no wrong, he is the Obamessiah. That doesn't obviate the observation that maybe the guy really is a drunk and it makes for a convenient excuse. A win-win for team jackboot.

Maybe a TV interview to demonstrate he isn't nuts...

He was on the Laura Ingraham Show earlier this week and he seemed rational. I suppose there is always the possibility that he is capacities are fading. Still, there certainly must be a more compassionate way to relieve someone with such a condition.

>>>”OMG..what is happening in this country?”

I kinda thought it was obvious...

We have REAL Marxist revolutionaries in charge of the federal government and a significant number of state governments. They are doing what Marxists do, whenever and wherever they gain control of a country. It really shouldn’t be that surprising to you.

What surprises me is that the “American people” that some raised on a pedestal as “magnificent” examples of a people that would never let this happen... Are just as ignorant and cowardly as every other population who let their nation fall to marxists. Even the so called “conservatives” who boast almost daily that they would fight to their last breath “IF” this were to happen, are still boasting... Either they are idiots, deaf and blind, or just hoping that no one notices they are f-—ing cowards.
