Fact is, this election is fake... It’s mostly meant as a show and the American state-run media are gobbling it up. The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, pre-approves who is even allowed to run for president...

Our local radio guys were suggesting that it’s better if Iran’s current President (can’t spell the name!) wins.

The idea is that the president doesn’t have any power anyway, so at least having a rabidly crazy spokesman keeps the world’s attention, such as it is, focused on Iran.

If a more reserved, moderate, president is elected, the power behind the throne will continue as always, but the world would be placated and would go back to completely ignoring the problem, rather than only partially ignoring the problem, which is today’s state.
