Cher is going to get a son - after her daughter declared she is having a sex change. The singer's only child, Chastity Bono, started the gender-swap process earlier this year and has declared she wants to be called 'Chaz'. The 40-year-old came out as a lesbian more than two decades ago.
Referring to his client as a 'he, Chastity's publicist Howard Bragman said: 'Yes, it's true - Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honour his true identity. 'He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. 'It is Chaz's hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his "coming out" did nearly 20 years ago. 'We ask that the media respect Chaz's privacy during this long process as he will not be doing any interviews at this time.' Gay leaders hailed Bono's decision as courageous.
'Chaz Bono's decision to live his life authentically represents an important step forward, both for him personally and for all who are committed to advancing discussions about fairness and equality for transgender people,' said Neil Giuliano, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
'Coming out as transgender is an extremely personal decision and one that is never made lightly.'

I’ve said it before: When Cher is your model for womanhood, why would Chastity want anything to do with that?
Plus, the woman named her CHASTITY! That’s how her life STARTED! Could you imagine how downhill it went from there?
I shudder to think what happened in that home.
And, after the surgery, it’ll run for governor in Kalifornia and win.
I guess we see what happens to a child when she has a mother with the character of Cher.
Nothing more pathetic than a dried up, collagen injected has been. Didn’t Cher have a son with Gregg Allman? Wonder what he is like.

I just feel sorry for her.
Having Sunny and Cher as parents - there was no way this child would grow up normal.
What I despise is why release to the press and have us have to waste our time hearing it.
It should go live its life and let us live ours without her in it.
