Yesterday I met with a loan officer along with a liberal woman who has been working as a consultant for my business. During my conversation to the woman from the loan company, I mentioned in casual conversation "There's this girl that works here who is from the same city you are."
Later that afternoon I received the following email from the liberal consultant:
"Subject: DUE RESPECT Please stop referring to females as "girls". You kept using that word during our meeting today with Debbie & Anna when you talked about your company. Any female in the business world will be highly offended if referred to as a girl. You may even prejudice someone against you (hint: she won't recommend the loan). We don't refer to you as "boys". Thank you"
Wow, I'd like to know if I was out of line, or if I should show this PC woman the door.
I would fire the consultant.....
Sounds like a pissy feminist to me. You might ask if that is written in the law somewhere? Surely there is ROOM for individuals to speak freely, in obama’s new America.

I would refer to her the next time as a female. “I’d like to introduce you to this female.” Or you could use a better description - it has 5 letters and it doesn’t begin with “W”.

Plus, she couldn’t just say it quietly in your presence? And she is your CONSULTANT? off with her head/ figuratively of course.

Yes, I agree — I like men, too. Maybe that’s the difference.
Show her the door without warning her it may hit her on the way out.
I would apologize to her profusely while making all the necessary arrangements to replace her.
First of all....FIRE THAT WOMAN! Why have the devil in your business.
Second, I OWN a commercial real estate business in Florida. I would have/and don’t have, any problem with being referred to as a girl. I AM a girl. Good grief.
This is a very insecure woman who has no business consulting YOU.
I’m a female, and I think this is ridiculous. Show her the door.
Be very leary about doing business with any protected class.
Send her an email that says “You go girl!”
I concur. I would wait about 5 days, then I would terminate the contract without giving a reason. I would refuse to provide substantive feedback to the fired consultant, and I would work backchannels with other businesses to reduce the volume of new work this consultant obtains.
That was rude, dude; she’s sure got a ‘tude. Tell her you’re not in the mood!
I join the crowd that says fire the consultant — she’s a ticking timebomb, and she’ll take someone to court at some point for offending her. Don’t let it be you.
